first post

hi everyone..i have loved..um, ok, obsessed over reading all your posts!
i am 38, dh 34, and we have decided to ttc...i went off the pill in oct after 2 years, had my first af nov 5, had positive opk nov 21 (bd of course for a few days) so we are just at the very beginning stage...i am quite sure i am not pg this cycle but will take a test anyway on sunday...looking at my bbt i think i ovulated on nov 23 but not sure if this could even be possible staright off the pill the first month
i have just started this week drinking green smoothies & taking fertilaid and have been taking prenatal vitamins for almost 2 months
i have an 18 year old daughter from a previous marriage so i try to hold on to the fact that i 'was' able to get preggers in the past and hope that after so many years of having a partner that didn't want any more children (he had a vasectomy soon after the birth of our daughter) and me wanting a bushel of them that now may be my chance with my current husband being in the same boat and us having a such a wonderful relationship...just wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone who posts for the encouragement and support that is given :)

Welcome! I'm reasonably new here, also...joined in October, I believe. Our situations are somewhat similar...I'm two years older than you, but my DH is also 34, and I have an 18 year old daughter! (Also an 8 y.o. son.) I stopped taking the pill in August because it started making my blood pressure high - which forced DH and I to have "the talk", and we decided to try for a baby. We got pregnant the second month trying, which really shocked me!

Anyway, welcome again...you'll find this to be a warm, wonderful, intelligent and supportive bunch of women. :-)

Welcome to our community.  At 38, your still nice and young!  I am glad reading some of the posts here has helped, there are a lot of wonderful women here who have conceived and had healthy babies well into their 40's...it's so common now.  Good luck with TTC, and once again welcome!!
