I posted on Fert forum...but want to post here too so I can get as many opinions as possible!!!
Finally had my first RE appt. It has taken months for me to get in to see him...In the meantime, he was working with my regular Gyn. on tests, Clomid...etc... 20 months of ttc and we are finally getting some much needed help!!
Anyway, I have a few questions for all of you.....Need some opinions. Sorry if too long....I am just anxious to get more information......
1. I was told NO aerobic exercise... I could do weights and walk only!!! Gosh, I am going to gain 30 lbs!!! Never mind my cholesterol levels!!! Anyone else in this boat??? Dropping the caffeine (which I did before ttc) and other lifestlye changes are easy for me...but no aerobic exercise? Not that I love exercise...When he first said "No aerobics or cycling," I admit I got a little excited!! But, I know how I am and exercise is the only thing that keeps me sane and from gaining a zillion pounds. I am not a small person by any means so I have to really watch my weight.
2. Eventhough I ovulate on my own, I am on Clomid....to raise prog, and have a better "qualilty egg." I have to do 100mg for one month only to do the Clomid Challenge test. Um, this second month of 50mg. turned me into a mean, headachy hot flashing beast!!! How can I (or my dh and co workers and 24 students!!) survive?????? HA! Any tips on how to get through those excruciating 5-6 days??
3. Taking B12 @1000mg. Is that in addition to the amount already in my pre natal vitamins????
4. This RE actually encourages Pre Seed, Evening Primrose, Mucinex.... Gosh, my regular Dr. thought I had lost my marbles when I asked about this stuff. I already do the Fish Oil that he recommended.
5. Having insulin resistance test done in a few weeks... I was told it may make me very nauseous. Any experiences?
Oh yeah...here's a good one. My RE was reading my dh's sperm analysis which took place a few months ago. Anyway, RE said he only sees sperm (morphology rates and such??) that good every 3-5 years. Well, like a fool I told my husband this and he cannot quit walking around the house with his chest stuck out so proudly!!! Of course, my Dr. added that the lab that conducted the test only does basic testing and he wants to do more. My dh's chest deflated a little when I told him he had to go in the cup one more time!! Hee! Hee!
Thanks for helping me!! I just need to calm my nerves and go to bed!! HA!.....Only to get up with a hundred and one more questions tomorrow.
