Spotting with Progesterone

Hi, this is my first time posting a message, so it might be a little lengthy.  I am almost 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby.  With my initial blood work, i found out my HcG levels were fine but my progesterone levels were low at only 9.  I was prescribed progesterone suppositories which insert 3 times daily vaginally.  I have been doing this for several weeks now.  I haven't had any spotting at all except for this morning when i used the bathroom around 9 am i noticed a blood spot on my lightday.  I got scared and put a suppository in which i put in anyway in the morning.  Well it's almost 1 in the afternoon and i haven't had spotting again.  I was told by the secretary at my ob/gyn that this is normal and that unless im cramping or having heavy bright red blood not to worry.  Is this true?  Could maybe my cervix be irritated from using these so much....please help i need some advice.

I used the progesterone suppositories but inserted one at bedtime, not morning, less mess and leakage (sorry TMI) I was fortunate not to have any spotting - but I would think (and I'm no doctor) that one little episode of spotting is ok - if it continues or increases or you just can't shake your concern, call your doctor's office and ask again.

I was on crinone suppositories.. they leave a by-product that is almost like wet tissue paper.  Many times the tissue paper like substance would be discolored from traces of blood.  RE told me not to worry..  I'm 14wks now and haven't had any problems.

Before the suppositories my progesterone went down to 11.  After the progesterone it went up to 39. They never tested it again after that, but like I said everything is fine now, so it must have worked :)

Take care.
