A good monthly charting system really helped us, plus reducing stress. Chart basal body temperature, cervical mucus and even using some ovulation prediction kits really helped me finally figure out my fluctuating cycles, instead of just guessing. After years of trying on our own, we were pregnant withing 6 months of charting. Lots of good books and websites out there to help with figuring out and charting your fertility cycles. Good luck!

Try to relax (I know easier said than done)! Stress will mess you up in soooo many ways you don't even realize.  It is not to late we (me & my husband) are only behind you by about a year. We decided to try a "go with the flow" attitude been together 18yrs. We did not talk about it, we just went about business as normal and set in our hearts that whatever is meant to be will work out that way (God's Will).
Everyone has a different story though and that is mine. You may want to talk to your doctor about it.
Good Luck and God Bless

Hi, welcome to "the older mother club". 39 is not too old!!
Here in Holland the average age women get their first child is somewhere around 30 and I know lots of women who had perfect healthy babies in their late 30-ties or even older.

Statistics show it can take a bit longer to conceive and there is a higher chance when it comes to miscarriages and complications.
I'm 39 too and conceived easily but lost the baby at 8 weeks. Nevertheless I still have good hope for a full term pregnancy.
