poorly formed placenta

I havent been on here for a while. I've been going thru some hard times. I am finally 13wks and we saw the baby moving and kicking a week ago on our u/s and thought the rough part was behind us. I got the results of the u/s today and I'm FREAKING out. 1st they recorded the babys h/b at 176bpm but they said it was irregular. Then they said I have a poorly formed placenta and I stil don't seem to be producing any progesterone. They are afraid that my placenta will not be able to support and nourish the baby. Of course my dr said these are concerns but not to completly give up hope yet. I don't know what to think or do. Has anyone else had this problem and have made it to the end? Can anyone please give me some advice... I need help in a bad way.

Thank you to everyone. I am already on 400 mg of progesterone suppositories a day. Dr talked about possibly uping it to 600, we will wait a week and do another round of tests and another u/s. I'm just worried cause I don't think it's natural to still be taking that much progesterone in your 2nd tri. Has anyone else heard of that?

In your shoes, would also be asking for progesterone supplements (suppositories are strongest from what I understand), and looking for anything I could do to help the placenta along with diet and supplementation. Maybe also consider acupuncture? It has proven results for sustaining early pregnancy. Wishing you the very best possible outcome!

I wish I could give you some good advice here, but this is a new one for me as well.  The only thing that comes to mind is to go on progesterone supplements.  I don't know if that's appropriate in this situation or not.  I will keep you in my thoughts and I too hope you will keep us updated.  Take care and I wish you well.

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I haven't had this happen but I know it must be awful. Just trying to conceive and being disappointed is hard but having seen the baby and now this, I'm just so sorry. I will say a little prayer and hope it all works out ok. If the doc said not to give up hope, don't. I'm sure people have gone thru this and had a healthy baby or he wouldn't have said so. Try to stay positive and keep us updated.
