after sex

This maybe probably too much information, but I had too ask. When DH and I have sex I always get right up to bathe. The last few times it appears his sperm is outside of my private area. Kinda gross, I know. Question is if it is outside did any stay inside. I'm confused. I don't know if this has always happened or I just notice more because we are trying so hard to get pregnant. He seems to think I need to stay in the bed to keep anything from "coming" out.

I guess it might depend on where your husband was when he has his O, but usually when the sperm fluid meets your own body's fluid, the sperm start swimming up to find the egg. Relaxing in bed is suppose to help the little guys get a good head start on their way up there. But timing with ovulation is important. My baby #1 was a one month "maybe we'll start trying" baby, so we were shocked when it took several years to have baby #2. We had a miscarriage in between, however, both DH and I were under a lot of stress at our jobs. I blame the stress because within 6 months of my changing jobs, baby #2 was on the way. I've posted this book before, but "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", www.tcoyf.com, really helped me finally pinpoint my ovulation and luteal phases, which had changed after the miscarriage. Within 4 months of their charting system, and the reduction in stress, I was pregnant. Good luck and try to relax and enjoy the process!
(14 wks tomorrow with baby #3)

Thanks. I am so stressed out by all this. Ihave two boys already. I am 34 (35 in May 08) and have had 4 miscarriages in one year. I would have never thought when I finally really was ready I would not be able to have a baby. The last M/C was in June, since then I have not been able to concieve. At least before I concieved. I more in tune with my body then ever now. Every little cramp, pain, bleeding, I feel everything. I have had 29 day cycles and 25 day cycles. Do you think if the sperm fluid did come out anything went in. I know this is so silly but everything helps. The worst part of all of this, I have four close friends who are pregnant. Two just delivered within a week of the other.

Not sure if it's an old wives tale or if it really does help, but I've heard it's a good idea to relax in bed for 15-20 minutes afterwards if you are trying to get pregnant. Did that with babies #1 and #2, however #3 baby on the way was a surprise so I know I didn't relax in bed after for this one. Even if, scientifically, the non-movement afterwards doesn't matter, it's always nice to have some quiet time to relax anyway as stress can cause difficulties for conceiving. Good luck!

You should lay in bed after because it does start falling out when you get up, and yes it is a gross feeling but hey "what we women go through, men will never understand" so good luck!
