We are also taking a vacation next week for our anniversary, and a sort of last getaway before our little angel arrives!!

Take care and congrats again!

oh lawdie - I can only imagine with hubby will be like with a daughter - she will have him so wrapped that I'm sure all she will have to do is bat her eyelashes and daddy will give her anything she wants - it's gonna be bad -

the name thing will be a toughie - our goal is to have a name picked out hopefully before she is born! lol - otherwise her name may be Frosty Fries or something else goofy

Hey Perty - way to go - there is nothing a mommy can do better for her little one then stay home with the baby - nobody loves the way mommy will - the only consolation I have is that since I direct a preschool - little one will be with me at school and I'm hoping that the boss' baby will get special treatment - I may tell the ladies that if they want paid on time - they better give our little one extra special care - lol - think I can get away with it?

That is AWESOME!  It's nice to know so you can start shopping!!!!  It's what we do best...lol!  And now you will have a little helper to shop w/ you soon.  My daughter already (at 3 yrs old mind you) asks her daddy for money so she can go shopping!!  Too fun!  I love Kohl's by the way!

Happy Day!!

Rebecka--yeah I had the same problem put  faces to EVERY name....I have had 1 in mind since junior year in highschool and we came up with nothing better.  Our nursery is not pink at all, it is a jungle theme with brown and yellow walls.....and oooh so cute...girls dont have to have pink rooms :O) Some girl names we threw around....we like different
Grace
Briana
Ariana/ Gianna
Skylar
Madilyn/ Madison
Kylee
Kaydence
Hanna
Taylor
**good luck I ruled out so many I liked just based on past experience with the name

a girllllllllll!!!  yippee!! i agree, if my baby had downs or not she would be loved just as much.  we had a hard time coming up with names, dh thought my names were too weird (see im a nutty californian, and he is from ohio) so his names tended to be more on the "plain" side lol.  but we settled and her name is Addison Grace.  im glad you are doing so well!  i was supposed to go next weekend to idaho for my grandpa's 90th birthday, but i dont think i can drive the 13 hours! id fly but i need the $$ to get a dresser for my babys room.  im quitting work the end of  nov and im going to stay home!  im so excited and so nervous.

Oh congratulations.. I know you are on cloud nine right now. You know it is gonna be one or the other, but finding out........ for me anyway.. it just made it so real and brought me even closer to the baby that is growing and kicking inside me.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE him.

On the name thing, I went and bought a dry erase board and hung it up.  If we like a name, we put it on the board and see how it grows on us.. or doesn't..  You might try that..

My girl names were Miranda and Greta if you are looking for ideas.

Congrats again mommy!!

Rebecka - when you mentioned Pocatello, my heart just broke!  It's been so long since we've been through there!  Sorry the weather was kind of yucky.  And CONGRATULATIONS!!  I think little girls are sooo sweet but then again so are little boys!  I'm glad that you had a good time - I'm so jealous!

thanks for the welcome back Patty - I did suffer from some forum withdrawal last week - lol - almost tempted to log onto the hotel's computer and check in - lol - I have issues - there are some Kohl's around you - have to be - mom has one in Huntington, WV - there are no stores in our hometown in Southern Ohio - you have to either go in to WV or KY - I'm just excited to know for sure what color to buy and now I'm eager to pick a name and have an identity for her - I would love to use my mom's maiden name as her name - but hubby HATES it with a passion - so I've been calling her that just to annoy him - its great!

We did find out last week though that her first toy must be my bladder - we drove on the Beartooth Highway - it goes over the tops of the mountains and it's like being on top of the world - unfortunately you do NOT take this rode if you get even the least bit carsick - you kiss your back bumper going around nearly every curve - I think she was holding on to my bladder to keep from sliding around in there - lol - I told hubby I thought she was a Garfield doll - sloshing back and forth every curve - I had to pee constantly - it was really bad - and NO bathrooms anywhere - I had to pee three times this morning while in the dr's office - but I still have had no morning sickness (knock on wood) so I should be thankful that this is the worst so far - lol

NO names yet - its so hard since I have worked with kids for so long, I think of a name and immediately see a face - sometimes thats good and sometimes bad - hubby so far has only mentioned one girls name that he likes and I don't like it at all - argh - should be fun - have to rethink the nursery too - I had already decided what I wanted if it was a boy - my sister thinks I shold use the same thing for a girl - but the quilt was blue, green, yellow and white - I suppose I could have mom add lace to the edge when she makes it...hmmmmm - not an all pink room type - I can do pink clothes until the cows come home - but not the whole room

vacation was nice - only down side was lots of grey rainy and snowy weather - driving home through Idaho it was nearly white out conditions and then we heard that Pocatello got ten inches of snow - so we just made it through in the nick of time  - but the time together was wonderful and there is a photographer in Jackson that we LOVE - we have his pictures in every room - we always buy one each year as a gift to each other for our anniversary - can only afford one a year - lol - but we did buy one this year for the nursery - very peaceful and calm - sunrise over a lake - lots of pink in the sunrise - and I did buy a Raggedy Ann for little one - that was my favorite when I was little - used to tell mom I was going to have twins and name them Ann and Andy - lol - sicko - the photographer signed the back of the pic for the baby so very neat there - just eager to hold her and meet her and name her and I'm hoping she has my nose and curly hair and hubby's blue eyes - not his chicken legs though - lol

Rebecka,
I'm so glad things are going as planned, and I also agree, it doesn't matter what they may bring with them when they come into our lives!! The blessing that they bring period is enough! Girls are great, as we hope that we are having one, but doesn't really matter when it comes down to it. Happy shopping to you!! We here in "southeastern" Ohio, we don't know what Kohl's is. They only have places like that in "bigger" cities! We do have an applebees though, don't know why, it sucks there! And they have "threatened" us with an Old Navy, although that will never happen! Ah well, If ya can't at least order it from a catalog then I guess we don't need it bad enough. LOL
I'm so glad you got to spend some much needed time with the hubby, and you got to see some snow?? I'm SO jealous!!! I want snow! I'm sick of 93 degree weather in October in Ohio!!
Glad everyone is happy and healthy and relaxed and back in the real world because WE MISSED YOU!!!

Patty

yeah yeah yeah - why do I have the feeling that in Coconut Grove - you are doing the I Told You So dance - for the second time - they said girl!  The important part was that everything looked healthy on the ultrasound!  We are at a higher risk of Down's - 1 in 518 - so they offered an amnio - told us to go home and think about it - we knew we were going to be at higher risk due to our ages - but our blood work came back good and they checked the nuchal fold and that measured out good - plus, this little girl is going to be born exactly as God intended - whether that be with three legs, blind, with NKH like my nieces or with Down's - we won't love her any more or any less - she will still be beautiful and special and wonderful - and I just have this amazing peace that we are making the right choice in NOT doing an amnio.  I don't know if that peace is because she will be born healthy or because she'll be born with Down's and that's ok too - doesn't matter - it's kinda like for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and health - we make those vows to someone we choose - why wouldn't we make the same vow to someone given to us as a gift?  I wax philosophical now - lol - must be hormones - the doctor said if we decide on the amnio, it should be this week so we have time to make decisions - I looked at him like he was bonkers and told him regardless, we would never abort - his response was never say never.  He said he had people who said never and then based on the results decided to terminate.  Not as long as this little one's heart is beating!!!!  So on the way home, I stopped at Kohl's (new one just opened five minutes away - hurray)  they are having huge opening sales - whoo hoo - and I bought six absolutely adorable little pink outfits and one little soft purple onesie that says "I love daddy!"  He's going to be so wrapped it won't be funny!  So all looks well, proceeding on course - and our little angel will be twenty weeks in two days - half way - what a miracle!!!
