My sciatic wasn't typical...it was actually my s-i joint/nerve. I saw a pt for a while but what finally fixed it was a maternity belt that would keep my hip joint in place.
Lots and lots of ice. Staying on the couch wont help either. As much as it hurts, walk some every day and then ice right after. I had it horribly around that time. It took about a month to go away, i also got a referal from my doc for physical therapy, i only had to do 2 sessions. They really helped me, told me what to do to get rid of it :)
