New here

Just got by BFP yesterday - have by HCG test today and they came back 7000+.  My RE says this is great and I am relieved. I miscarried (blighted ovum) in 2005. Does this mean my chances of another miscarriage are low?? How do I interpret this?  When did everyone start sharing their news - I am 5 weeks and 1 day EDD 9/17/08

THANKS EVERYONE!

Just wanted to say welcome and congrats!

I waited with this preg a long time due to my history of multiple MCs.  I told a few close friends right away, family at 12 weeks, and the world after the amnio results came back at around 17 weeks.

Good luck to you.

I have a friend that tried IVF 3 times and was 40 and finally gave up... the next month she got pg... less stress I guess... sometimes happens with people who adopt... once they adopt they get pg because the stress of getting pg is gone... I have a friend that is adopted and his brother is 9 months younger because his adopted mom got pg right after she adopted him.. weird but congrats!

Thanks everyone! It is so wonderful to read all the welcoming messages.  My RE also told be pregnany was unlikely even with IVF. He said I was the last patient he expected to see these results from. DH and I conceived naturally w/o even trying this month - I gave up!  It was his birthday so we found time on Christmas Eve to BD...and now I am 5 weeks along! CRAZY!!!

Congrats and welcome to the forum!!!!!!!!  About telling others, I did tell my family right away as they knew when I was having my beta-hcg (I had IVF - you did too, right?) and also told all of the ladies on the forum too.  I told close friends when I was around 8-9 weeks& general public around 12-13 weeks - good luck and a big fat CONGRATULATIONS!!! - jennifer (25 weeks)

Congratulations! I can understand your fear of having another miscarriage. I too had a blighted ovum back in 2005, and 6 months ago we were told the only way we would be able to get pregnant would be to do IVF, however I fell pregnant naturally and am now 7 weeks 5 days. We have told immediate family but will not be telling anyone else till 12 weeks.

Good luck!

Thats great news!  Sounds like its been a rough road for you but your numbers are good.  I think it's up to you when you feel comfortable sharing your good news.  Maybe you could tell a few really close friends and then wait a little longer to tell the world!  Thats how I handled it but everyone is different.  Keep us posted and welcome aboard the preggo bus!

Hi , Congrats and Welcome to the forum!! Your numbers sound great to me! Right where they should be. I would guess you are doing just fine! We here (well a ton of us) took our tests together!! So, some of us told eachother here before our husbands knew!!! (shhh) As far as telling everyone else *family members and friends* it's totally up to you, some prefer to wait while others *like myself* couldn't keep it in! Are you going to have an ultrasound soon?
