Mammogram after TTC/BD...

I have an upcoming mammogram that I have been putting off, due to IVF treatments.  I have an upcoming appt this Friday and dh and I just bd during ovulation (still trying naturally in-between IVF cycles).  The odds of us conceiving naturally are pretty low (as it hasn't happened in the past 3+ years), but there is always that "what if" going on in the back of my mind.  My next IVF cycle is also coming up in a couple weeks, so there just isn't a good time to squeeze in a mammogram (it takes forever to get an appt too).  They always ask "could you be pregnant?" before the mammogram...and of course the answer is "yes"!  Just wondering what you think I should do, or what you would do...?  Thanks for you advice!

I would probably not do the mammogram, even though I know how very important it is.  I am just to afraid of doing any damage at all.  I would perhaps see your Dr. ahead of time, or at least talk to him/her and discuss your fear.  It's important to have that test, but perhaps they can better schedule around your cycle.  Best of luck to you!  I hope this is your month!!!

I postponed a few Drs visits in the TTC phase after I BD'd, with the thought always in the back of my mind "Could I be pregnant?"  I know there's quite a wait for some procedures, but you'll have the peace of mind knowing that if in fact you're pregnant, you didn't expose your baby to any potential hazardous conditions.  I'm sure if you go for your mammogram, and they ask you "do you think you're pregnant?" and you say, "maybe, I'm not sure", they will advise that you wait til you find out.  I hope you are! : )
