Prenatal vitamins

I've been taking prenatal vitamins for about a year and I am wandering if this causes my constipation.  My stomach is bloating it makes me look like pregnant.  I was asked many times how far long am I?   Is there anyone who has experience of this kind?  Since I am not pregnant yet I would like to stop taking this vitamins then take folic acid.

YES prenatal vitamins do cause constipation it is the iron in the pills that causes it believe me I am pregnant now and suffer from FREQUENT constipation which my dr said was kinda a good thing it means I am taking my vitamins every day like I should but he said that it was causing all my problems.

It is good that you are thinking ahead of time though good going

It is not uncommon for some to get constipated from prenatals.  I believe it is the iron that does it?  Personally, I recommend staying on them, but that is just my opinion.  You can try increasing your water intake and also your fibre.  I also find that dried apricots work well for me.  Good luck to you!

you can try switching brands of vitamins to see if that helps you....

Talk to your Dr, they can prescribe prenatals with lower levels of iron.

I take folbic acid & prenatals.  I would stick with the ladies here & just switch brands.

I would also say stick with them and maybe try switching brands.  Miralax has worked great for me and it dissolves without taste in hot or cold drinks.  Not as natural as some other methods, so maybe try prunes or apricots first.

Yes, thank you all. I will try other OTC brand.  Does anyone experiencing water weight gain due to prenatal vitamins?  Besides being constipated my stomach looking big.  My weight still the same.  It just I look like pregnant.  I don't know the polite way of answering odd questions.  "When are you due? or How far long are you?  I work in retail and I get that quiet often.
