Ultrasound Issues

I took a digital pregnany test (two) that said I was pregnant. I have irregular menstrual cycles (usually 43 days), but they wanted to come in for an ultrasound to make sure it was not ectopic. My last period started 9/4 and my positive test was 10/13. The ultra sound did not show anything at all(they also did not see anything in my tubes). The doctor had me go for blodo test last mon & wed to check my levels and on Thursday morning they confirmed the levels are doubling and my prgesterone is high. I have to go for more blood test Monday. I have been spotting off and on, very light, spotting for a week. Am I just jumping to conclusions or has anyone else had a scenario like this?
The doctor thinks the ultrasound may have just been too early, since my cycle is so irregular.
Any feedback is appreciated,

It seems the first ultrasound was too early. My cycle was so irregular that U should be at 10+ weeks, but I had my ultrasound today and it measured 7 weeks and 3 days, heartbeat of 164. I was just so happy to see and hear the baby. Thanks for your support.

It sounds like your ultrasound was just too early. It is difficult to base the age of the fetus on your last menstrual period if you are irregular. If your blood levels are good, you should feel very positive that your next ultrasound will star your little bean!  Congratulations!

I had an ectopic back in feb/march.  My HCG was low and not doubling.  It was rising but slowly.  I had some light spotting for about 3-4 days. They never did see the ectopic in the tube, but at six weeks pg when there was nothing in the uterus it was diagnosed as ectopic. This was later confirmed, because the methotrexate shot did not work and my tube ruptured.  In my situation, I got pg from IUI so there was no question on the approx time of conception. Since your cycles are long and you dont' know for sure when you ovulated, I would plan for the best and hopefully it will all work out.  If your hcg is doubling and progesterone is up those are really good signs.  I wish you the very best.

I dont know much, but i understand that there are symptoms such as extreme nausea and a uterus which is bigger than its age, in the case of a molar pregnancy.  Hoe it is not.
