I've been charting for 6 months now. My cycles are 26 days. I am not sure if I am ovulating. I did have a hormone test before we started trying and it came back fine. My husband had one and his was in normal limits. The only thing left to check now is possibly his sperm. That we haven't checked. Or its my weight. That's the only thing I can think of. I am not sure what else could be causing us to not become pregnant.
The statistics are that only 50% of normal fertile couples conceive within 6months of trying. Getting everything checked out for you and your partner is a good way of sorting any issues early but if all looks good then it might just take a bit longer.
I thought I had normal fertility but miscarried several times and was found to have severe endo with scarring that I would never have known about. Am now 31 weeks so am happy we got things checked and got the help we needed.
Good luck!
I had 2 Mirena IUDs over a span of 7 years. I'm also 35 years old. It took us over 6 months to get pregnant & 1 miscarriage. I won't get into explaining all the complications I had with the IUD, but I know my body & I strongly believe it contributed to my struggles.
I suggest going to your doctor & having your hormones checked through a simple blood test. That's what I did & found out my hormones wouldn't support a pregnancy so my doctor prescribed me 200mg progesterone supplements to be inserted into the vagina to help me get pregnant. To my surprise, one month after my miscarriage & only 10 days after the blood test, I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant before even starting the progesterone. I called my doctor immediately & she instructed me to start the progesterone they night. I used it twice a day for 14 weeks & am now 4 days away from my due date with my 1st baby!
I wish you all the luck on your journey to motherhood. Have faith, it will happen!
Your cycles may be off and you may not be ovulating when you think you are. I would suggest charting for several months to find out exactly when you ovulate.
