Just thought to share my story, I am now 31 years and am currently pregnant with my 5th baby, a boy.
In 2001 after having my 4th premature baby I chose to have my tubes burt out. My children were born at 36,35,30 and 23 weeks all coming earlier each time and the last one died shortly after birth. I was on bed rest and contracted and bleed my whole pregnancies. THey never checked for progesterone levels back then. After my daughter died I thought I "had" no choice but to get my tubes burned out. I was told that by hainf them burned lessened the chance of a tubal pregnancy which occured in 90% of none cauterized TLs with in 10 years.
After meeting and remarring my wonderful husband in 2005 we never thought really at first about having another baby. I had three and he had two. But after a year we thought to look into tubal reversals. Mine being burned I thought I had no chance then I found Dr. Richard Levin in Lousiville KY. He has had success with reversals and was the first dr to have the first successful TR in the US and the only TR dr who usess a special mircoscope for the tubes and does not use stints which cause scar tissue, then offers free after care.
SO we had him in our thought sbut the time was not right. Then in April 2009 I finally had the surgery. I was gieven a 50% chance as he could only save one tube with a 5.5cm in length. The other tube was burnt all the way gone on the uterine side but still had planty left coming from the ovary:( Then I was to chart my temps for him and had a six week wait to try. In June when my wait was up and I O'd he found out I had a luteal phase defect that caused my tmeps not to rise good after O and needed progesterone. My levles were 6.4 right after O which is too low to get pregnant and carry a baby. SO I was put on progeterone suppliments and in September got pregnant but mc as the pharmacy did not send my meds when he was supposed to. Then in October I got pregnant again and now am 30 weeks with a baby boy. I have been on progesterone the whole pregnancy and stayed off bed rest and bleeding. I was on pills ( Prometrium) at first then they added cream with it then I was switched to shots.
I hope this gives others hope of a reversal if you want one that even with one tube it can happen! Sticky abby dust to all who are looking:)
