Yeah, I learned that lesson too...stay away from google!! Now you can relax and enjoy that baby growing inside of you!! I am truly happy and excited for you!!
Thank you!! It's going to be a surprise! Ya some of the statistics are hard to read. My doctor says don't read anything online :) I'm glad we had the tests done the had no complications and the results were very good!
I missed this. Congratulations to you, that is wonderful news! Wishing you an uneventful remainder of your pregnancy!!
OMG, that is awesome, I'm so happy for you. Do you know what you are having yet, or are you waiting for that surprise?
You know I was just thinking about this.....I was told that at my age I have a 1 in 12 chance of having a baby with downs. But....I know many many woman on this site in their late 30's and 40's having babies and I haven't heard of anyone yet having a baby with downs. Where are they getting these statistics?
I just came on line to specifically check if any news was in yet!!! So happy for you. What a relief - what fantastic news!
Hi Everyone - thank u all for the good wishes! The test results are normal!! We're very excited! Thank you!!
Got my final final report today and everything is still normal. Any news on your end yet?
Congrats. Relieved for you! And yes. . . welcome to Team Blue!
Awesome! Let me know ASAP!
Thank you so much, this has been such a long and difficult journey, but right now, it all seems worth it. the sun does shine on us "old" women once in awhile doesn't it.
I'm on such a high right now, I just want to scream it to the world, oh....and go shopping for boy things :)
Yay!!! Huge congratulations, and welcome to Team Blue!! I remember getting that phone call at work...I had amnio, but had done FISH (accelerated results). I got the phone call on a Monday afternoon as well, and I screamed!! lol, quite literally. Everyone sort of stopped what they were doing thinking something was wrong, but it was such a happy moment, and out came all that pent up stress and tension. Oh, reading your post brings back such memories. I am so very very happy for you and wish you an easy, uneventful remainder of your pregnancy!! Congratulations!!
OMG, I got my results back, everything is normal and healthy and....its a BOY, I'm so excited, I'm sitting at my desk fighting back the tears. I haven't told anyone I work with yet and I work with all men, so OMG this is hard. I feel so lucky and so blessed right now.
thanks for the info, how did your test go? Did you receive good news, and/or did you have any complications? I'm still so worried every day that everything I do will cause something bad to happen. I also feel a little bit of guilt for having the procedure....I keep wondering, did I take anything away that the baby needed.
I am glad that everyone's procedures went well. I agree, having to go to the bathroom that bad did make things worse - I was kept waiting for 30 minutes extra as well and I was also almost in tears before things started, which did not help. I don't think the staff realizes how uncomfortable that really is!
Now let's hope for good results for everyone. I got my results in exactly 7 days (I did not ask for preliminary results because my insurance would not cover it).
Awe man, that suckkks! I was told they have preliminary results in 1 day. Too bad I had it on a Friday and had to wait a long weekend. The preliminary results are 98%. The final report will be in 2 weeks and is considered 99.9%. The preliminary results rule out the 3 bad ones...downs, trisomy 13 and trisomy 18. They can't always get enough "material" for the preliminary, but my dr. said she got chunks so they should be able to do the preliminary. If they can't, they still call me today and let me know that they can't do the preliminary. I'm crossing my fingers that they got enough to get it for me today though.
Alexis- I Know!! I had to pee so bad! But so glad it is over! How do u get to hear so soon? I was told I have to wait for 2 weeks!! I'm hoping for wonderful news for you!!!
Well the procedure is over, went pretty well. I had the cervical type as well. the worst part was having to go to the bathroom sooooo bad and having all of that done down there. they did the first u/s at 10:25, baby was so cute, kicking all over, then the DR didn't come in until 11:15, trust me....I had a "full" bladder at 10:25, so 11:15, I was in tears. I think the procedure was a little more painful just because of that.
Its Monday now and I'm supposed to find out this afternoon between 3 and 5, my knees are bouncing up and down under my desk as I type this....this day CANNOT go fast enough.
I also had no bleeding or spotting, so that was good and my symptoms have all been continuing, so I'm crossing my fingers that I won't be the 1 in 300 that has a m/c from this.
Good luck to you, I'll be anxious to hear your good news as well.
Great to hear the procedure went well! Here's to good news next!
Alexis- thinking of u! Thank u adgal and worried!
Great to hear the procedure went well, hope you get a good result! :)
I'm glad it's over and things went well. The anticipation is always so much worse then the reality (well, usually..). Now, relax and take it easy for a bit, then happily await that positive news! Then it is time to enjoy this pregnancy!!
Hello everyone! The procedure went very well today. No needles in stomach!! I had the cervical procedure. I experienced barely any pain. Today I've just been relaxing. I haven't had any spotting. Thank u again for all of your kind words and advice. Now praying for good results. I think it will be good. I'm very positive and I feel great. Thank you all!
Wishing you both a great outcome!
I'm having the CVS procedure done Friday as well, and I'm every bit as nervous as you. I think the pain isn't my fear, its finding out bad news. I'm hopeful for both of us that it is a pain free procedure and we both find good news :)
