Looking for suggestions...

I would like hear from some of guys who have been through a hard time to eat and/or drinking water during your first trimester. With my first pregnancy (which I lost) I didn have nausea or any symptoms. But this this time I really feel pregnant (Thanks God!..) My only concern is my nutrition. I don't have any desire to eat. I eat because I know I have to. I can't stand water taste. I force myself to drink it but don't go more than about four glass a day. I drink a lots of milk... My doctor said this is ok. I lost wait and I am trying to eat healthy now since I am having less nausea and vomit at the end of my first trimester But I still have this fun taste in my mouth and no appetite. I will appreciate any suggestion from those who have been through the same experience wìth a happy ending. Want to know what was helpful for you. I worry for my baby's healthy. I am counting on you. Thanks in advance.

I usually only drink water, but in my first trimester, it really made me nauseous.  So I compensated by drinking things that I could keep down easier, like orange juice and ginger ale.  I hated drinking all of that sugar but it was all I could manage as water literally made me vomit.  I figured at least I was getting fluids.  The good news is that the nausea went away around 10 weeks and now I am back to water.  My doctor said to eat what you can and not worry too much about the baby's nutrition - as they get a lot from the vitamins and we are not supposed to gain that much weight in the first trimester anyway.  As painful as that nausea can be, at least it's a sign that things are going well!!!  Hang in there.  It's rough but so worth it.

I had nausea/vomiting through the 2nd trimester and nothing stayed down, not even water. I have only gained 16 pounds and I am in my 38 week. OB said it was fine as the baby is perfectly healthy. The only thing she mentioned was that if I get dehydrated it can cause contractions, so even though water can still sometimes make me sick, I force myself to drink it.

Hello - I know exactly what you mean.  Even at 35 weeks my mouth feels weird, dry and and a weird taste.  I used to drink flavored water during my first tri, even that was hard to keep down.  I would suggets that you ask your Dr for Zofran - prescription anti nausea / vomitting drug.  That may help

I've had more nausea this time than with my first pregnancy so I haven't had an incredible appetite.  I start my day with crackers in bed and then am able to eat something more substantial.  I try to eat something every 2-3 hours. I keep taking my prental vitamin and try to get plenty of fluids.  I drink a lot of orange juice and V8.  My doctor said at this point I shouldn't worry about the baby getting enough nutrition. It'll get what it needs from me.  He's more concerned over the fluid intake. I'm also anemic so I've been eating more red meat than usual as well.
