Im so sorry to hear that Kricket!! I went to our local pharmacy and bought some support hose and OMG did they make a world of difference!! My legs feel wonderful, I did go for a walk and they were a bit sore after that but I think I am just out of shape. Good luck to you!
It turns out my vein issue was more serious. It was start of blood clot. I do have to keep it elevated but also put on blood thinners.
I ordered the support hose online. I have yet to get them but told I have to wear daily.
Thanks for all the info everyone shared.
I found some at a maternity store and a medical store, but they looked like normal nylons. They weren't so bad, I usually just wore skirts and dresses when I had to wear them that way I didn't feel wierd...lol! When I was at home I would just wear sweats and pit my feet up!
Thanks for all the comments ladies! I went to the dr and he said it's normal but that I should get some support hose...have any of you invested in these? Ugh support hose makes me sound like an old lady LOL!! Where would I even get these?
Same problem here - I also try to take frequent breaks with my legs elevated over my hips - its not taking the veins away its just releaving the pain & strain on the legs. Good luck & Blessings
I had vericose veins with my first pregnacy in the same place. As long as it is just achy you should be ok, but do mention to your doctor! Mine atrsted to swell and turn red and i was put on "modified couch rest" I wasn't able to go to work and do to much but it wasn't bed rest. I needed to be ablt to take frequest brakes with my leg elevated over my hips.
This is very common the best thing is to have the doc look at it & wear support hose
I previously had vericose veins prior to pregnancy. I am now only 7 weeks pregnant & showing concern to Dr.s. They sent me to have a sono called a venous duplex on my leg which came up basically clean. I am still being sent to a vericose vein Dr just to be sure.
My appt is also today. Please let me know how you make out.
