Yes, it's very normal.  I was bloated very early in both my pregnancies, and the indigestion is just another symptom that mysteriously appears along with the others.  Bloatedness is one of the main reasons why so many women lose their appetites or don't eat as much in early pregnancy, you just feel too full and it's uncomfortable.  Eat light, take Tums or Maalox, drink lot's of water and hopefully it will subside as your pregnancy continues.  Best wishes, and congratulations!

Ditto -- I actually went to emerg for stomach pain that I thought was from food poisoning!  It turns out it was increased stomach acid from the hormones + your digestive system slows down in pg so food stays in your system longer.  The doctor told me I could take Tums and if that didn't work then Zantac.  On top of that, watch the type of food that you eat -- nothing fatty or spicy, and lots of small meals instead of big ones.  Good luck!

My husband & doctor (dh is a pharmacist) believe it or not let me take Gas-X for my bloating as that seemed to help me but I was severly constipated too which was part of the problem.  The indigestion & bloating are both very normal during pregnancy - you could try the above OTC & you could also ask about taking Tums.  It's a mild antacid.  There's also eating small meals - don't eat a whole lot at one time,  try 7-up or Ginger-ale & soda crackers.  They're traditionally used for nausea but also can be helpful for indigestion although I would definitely try the Tums as well.  If you're uncomfortable w/taking this otc, ask your doctor.
