ok would like everyones opinion

last week I went to the doctor for my every 2 week appointment, now I will tell you the last 2 ultrasounds I had the tech said, yep, you got 2 girls, ( I am having twins).. Last week I went to my doctor, I saw his associate whom I absolutely love!!! anyway he checked the heartbeats using the doppler and said, oh,,, your having a boy and a girl, I was like noooo, I am having 2 girls, he said, nope, your having a boy /girl, I can tell by the tones of the heart, Just wanted to know what you guys thought, IN my last ultrasound, I saw the 3 white lines on both babies, and I told him that, he said, that doesnt mean anything, sometimes the little boys hide their winkies.. it really doesnt matter just so long as they are healthy, I just wanted everyones opinion.

thanks
Luci

I know 10 weeks and 13 weeks are hugely different but when I was in the hospital w/dd at 10 weeks they smirked (2 of them) and told me it was a boy! NOT, it was a girl.... But I am sooo curious now because if they never really got a good view of baby A it MAY be boy??? How exciting....A WHOLE WEEK??? wow, can't wait!

my next ultrasound is may 5th. He is an awesome doctor, when he had me listen the tones did sound very different. it just really put a shadow of doubt in my mind, I really dont mind one way or the other, I just wanted to see what you guys thought, the main reason I have doubts are... at 13 weeks the tech said, I think your having 2 boys, I didnt think to much at that time because it was so early, at 18 weeks and again at 20 weeks they did ultrasounds, and the tech had trouble seeing baby A both times, then at the end said it was a girl, Baby A is the one the doc is insisting is a boy, I will be sure to let you all know on may 5th the outcome, it will be interesteing to see.

I am having a hard time believing he can tell sex by the heartbeat tone, I have never heard of that before.  Curious as to the outcome, when is your next ultrasound?

I agree w/ Kellym! Even ultrasounds are not 100% unless you've got a clear view of the winkie.  (I had one friend who was told she was having a girl, was low-risk so only one u/s up until the very end and then at the very end SURPRISE, found out she was having a boy). But if ultrasound, which gives you a clear look at the developing baby, can't give you certains and absolutes,I find it REALLY hard to believe that a doppler could tell. Was he a doctor or a tech? Wow, I just find that hard t believe...hopefully there was more to it than that. Good luck !! And I"m sure you'll be thrilled whether you have both same sex or different! Congrats!

GEEZE O' PETE!  If we knew the sex by heart tones there would be no need for ultrasounds... I'm sure it puts a huge shadow of doubt in your mind coming from a professional but really?? I'm so curious now!!
