tubes tied?

I know pretty much everyone here has been ttc. Has anyone thought about birth control after this pregnancy? I am looking for a permanent form of contraception. My dr recommends essure for me. Im scared of implants of any kind. What are your thoughts on permanent birth control after this pregnancy?

Still trying to convince hubby to get snipped. If not, I'm getting my tubes tied. But I really wish he would man up and get it done.

My husband is getting a vasectomy. It's his turn to take responsibility for contraception - and it's a much less invasive/complicated procedure. The healing process is faster and easier and the risk for side effects (especially hormonal problems) is much lower for male sterilization than for a tubal ligation.

I used the merena implant and got it out in September because we wanted another baby but I was having periods all the time. I know a lady that never had periods after getting it in but mine was every second day and drove me demented. The doctor kept saying it would settle down but they never did and I had it in for over 2 years. Unsure myself of what to do after this one is born.

Sounds invasive. Get your partner to have the snip. Much easier on you :) you're the one having to go through pregnancy and childbirth so let him take some of the pain! That's my plan (after I convince him to have 1 more after this one which will be a much harder task for me!)

I successfully used the Mirena IUD between #2 and this pregnancy for 8 years. I considered having my tubes tied during this c-section, but loved that I had no periods using Mirena. Since insurance now covers it 100% I think I'll go back to that route until menopause onsets.

I'm currently pregnant with #4 and have thought about getting my tubes tied after this baby. I have trouble with other forms of contraception so thinking this might be the way to go
