Im soooo pissed!

at 16 weeks i was having cramping, so i went in for a u/s and a dating scan at the referring office. while i was there i said if possable could you tell me the sex. well.. the tech ended up doing the anatomy scan as well. i was told it was a boy.. they were almost positive. but, to come back when  was 20 weeks to be sure.. so i made an appt and went today and was sent home! they told me bc i had the anatomy scan already i couldnt have another u/s! they said the doc signed off on it as being a boy.. so thats that! what do i do?!! i am beyond mad..

i just called my doctors office to complain.. if they hadnt told me to come back that would have been one thing... plus i didnt even ask for the anatomy scan..i would have waited until 20 weeks.. they are the ones that just went and did it!

You know it wouldnt hurt to ask. But try looking online.

i'd call that DR of yours and tell him that you're paying his paycheck....and you want to be sure....before you go spendig all kinds of money on boy stuff and it being wrong...

yes, they said they billed that u/s already.. and I then offered to pay... bc this is pretty important.. she told me it would be 800 dollars!

i was told at 16 weeks my son was...well a boy. they said they were pretty sure. but it was still early. so i wanted to make sure before i went and paited his room blue and tan and bought all boy stuff. well at 20 weeks i had my anatomy scan and had the rudest lady and she didnt tell me what she thought he was. she said they send all the information to the doctor (so i figured he would tell me at my next apt) well at the next apointment i ask and the doc said she didnt send over that information! whatever i still wanted to make sure he was a he. i wanted a 3 d ultrasound so i could see his face and when i was there i asked them too look to see if he was a boy. and they did and he is a boy. so i would try a 3d ultra sound because its amazing plus you can make sure

Was it because of your insurance coverage?  Sometimes insurances will only cover 1 ultrasound per pregnancy or 1 per trimester, etc., unless there are medical reasons.  Just depends on the policy.
That would be really disappointing!  I hope it works out that you can have another one.

I think that they would do one if you were to offer to pay out of pocket.....Most insurance companies will only cover X amount of U/S's...which is so annoying!
