12 weeks?

Hello Ladies (: im a FTM & I just want to put my mind at ease! I'll be 12 weeks this weekend! & I have been counting down for so long to be in my second trimester! Because the doctor says I'm out of a risk of a miscarriage once I get there! But I don't understand how in this app I hear about women that loose there baby at 14 weeks or even 18 weeks!:( I am truly sorry for yalls loss! But I just wanna know why the doctors say your good after 12 weeks :(

They say that because the risk drops significantly after 12 weeks but unfortunately babies can be lost at any stage during pregnancy.

Truth is, you can lose your baby at any time, its just the further you go, the more the chances decrease

Truth is your never truly out of the chance to have one. I have had 2 before this one and they were both early on, however with that they can happen for several reasons. If your body find that it's not suitable to finish developing, our something traumatic happens to the mother's body. If you haven't ever had a miscarriage and your doctor sees no reason to worry then your more than likely safe.

Im a FTM as well and im only 9w+4 and counting down too. My doctor explained it as almost 85% of miscarriages happen in the first trimester so when you hit your second, you are way less likely to have one. They really should say you 'should' be good but they want to instill that you don't put extra stress on you or baby. im sure everything will be fine hun! I wouldn't worry.
