I graduate nursing school in a week. It potassium is elevated it can cause muscle fatigue. Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on. that electrolyte just does not have the effects that other imbalances have. But did the doctor treat her potassium level? or do you know what it was?
i dont think so but they can ask. she is a student and doesnt want to go get more work done unless its necessary. also, she keeps telling herself it's nothing and i think going in would freak her out.
Not sure- it's a wonderful question for her doctor. Did they check her thyroid as well?
