I am also going through this...I had an ultrasound at 19 weeks (last week) and there are some skeletal anomolies...including femur being 15 mm (about 4 weeks behind). Also the arm bones are behind about 3 weeks. There are also possible shortened ribs. They are saying my babe may have thanatophoric dwarfism...a lethal form of dwarfism. I have a second US tuesday to have a more detailed look. I am praying that the measurements are off and my baby will be okay. I hope everything worked out for you.
Im not sure, but that is whatI wasthinking espically since the bones are that short????
Does the integrated screeninig diagnose DS and dwarfism?
it suppose to be about 29 mm !
The first trimester sonogram would NOT show something like that because the fetus would've been too small.
Measurements might be off. I don't know what the measurements are SUPPOSED to be. Do you know what the normal bone length is supposed to be so I have an idea how just how short they're saying baby's legs are?
I am 20 weeks pregnant. I am 25 years old. This is my 1st pregnancy. I did the 1st Trimester ultrasound and the IPS test and all related blood work. All results are fine. I did the 2nd Trimester ultrasound last Saturday(19 weeks 1 day). the results showed that all long bones are short (17.5 mm) and everything else is fine. They booked for me follow up Ultrasound next Tuesday with genetic consulation! do the IPS and 1st ultrasound can't know if there is problem in the baby. Is there a medical reason for it? Is there a chance the 2nd ultrasound results are not correct?!
I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?
Thanks in advance
i have no idea but if the long bones are short it could be a little person, but im no doctor!
