7 weeks after a D&C

I had a D&C on June 17th due to a blighted ovum.I have not had a period yet, I did have one day of brief bleeding about 2 weeks after the D&C but not sure that qualifies as a period.  I took a home pregnancy test yesterday and it was positive.  I went and had my blood drawn today and the HCG level was 117.  I am not sure if that is left over from the miscarriage or a new pregnancy...could I still have an HCG level of 117 this long after the miscarriage????  Thanks!!

It would probably only be possible if you had  retained product but by now you should be showing some signs of infection if its been in there that long.. i am not a doctor though.. Austin is right, if you get another blood draw and it increases then you can feel it is a new pregnancy

it seems unlikely that it would still be that high after almost 2 months but whats important is if your hcg levels are rising you should get your hcg levels checked again in a few days and see if the numbers are going up if they are its a new pregnancy good luck
