You can just try for a second opinion. When I went with my cousin for hers after she miscarried they already knew what was going on and she didn't get one. If after two ultrasounds they're not finding a heartbeat it's unlikely you'll find one, but you can try and see if maybe another doctor will.
@ clysta yes that's what i m thinking...or otherwise i m gonna go for second opinion.
They didn't do another scan when I had my D&C. I know that you want to hold out hope but if you've had 2 ultrasounds that both showed no heartbeat then the baby has passed. I am so sorry for your loss. I know of a lot of people on this site (myself included) who had a miscarriage and then ended up pregnant again before their first period.
Are you wanting a D&C just because they might do another scan?
@ jschoch8 do they do sonogram before doing d&C?????i also want to go for second opinion..
I am very sorry for your loss and I know it is difficult but you should listen to your doctors advice.
i would take your doctors suggestion and go naturally unless it is taking too long. d&c can cause scarring which can effect future pregnancies. i know its hard to have a miscarriage but you can soon try again. i wish you best of luck.
today i went to the doctor for the sonogram and again there was no heartbeat ..i m so scared ...i m not ready to accept this fact that the baby is no more...this was my first pregnancy after 4 years of my marriage life though i never tried for the baby but when i heard about the baby i was very excited..i don't know what to do..still can't believe that my baby is no more..doctors told me to wait for the natural way but i want to go for d&c.so when i go for d&c do they do the sonogram again that day...
thanks alaysha for your comments
i think doctor didnt mention any thing about babys measurment. i was totaly upset so that i couldnt ask any questions .
I'm so sorry you are going through this. Was the baby measuring as far along as it was supposed to? Most of the time if you don't see a heartbeat it can either be too early or it means that the baby has passed. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and we saw a heartbeat and at 9 weeks we got another ultrasound and the baby was only measuring 6 1/2 weeks and there was no heartbeat. The baby had ended up passing and my body was unable to get rid of it. I had to do a D&C since if you leave it too long in your body it can cause all sorts of problems. After my D&C I ended up getting pregnant again right away and now have a healthy 2 1/2 year old.
today i went for the first ultrasound scanning of my second pregenancy and found that baby does not have heartbeat. i have done vaginal scanning for confirmation . doctor advised me for D&C but i thought of waiting for 3 more weeks and go for an ultrasound scanning again.i am on my 9 weeks now. is their any hope to get a positive result on next scanning? i am totally upset ...
It is good that you are going for another us - that is a regret that I have that I did not wait ... sometimes they are just hiding ... best of luck. Fingers are crossed
@ Clysta yes we saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks and 5 days..
@Lizzy no i m not bleeding or cramping..yes i m going to the doctor for the sonogram again.
Hi have you been bleeding or cramping. With my 3rd pregnancy I had a heartbeat at 6 weeks 5 days and then started to bleeding at 10 weeks I had lost baby at 8 weeks. I advise get another scan to confirm and talk to ur dr. My mc happened in January this year and I am now nearly 20 weeks pregnant and all is well. Be strong and wish u the best
I had a pregnancy back in 2001 - we saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks 7 weeks and 8 weeks - went back at 9 weeks and there was not a heartbeat. I was young then and did not wait to see if it was an error - I trusted my drs as they are the best fertility drs around - I had a D & C - I fell pregnant next cycle and my daughter turned 8 last week... good luck
Just to clarify. Are you saying that you saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks?
