A empty sac and a sac with a yolk

I had an ultrasound today because I had a lot of pain the past few days.  I had an UDI infection and had it removed. I read that I was high risk for a tubal pregnancy.  Well the ultrasound showed the sac with in the right place with a yolk.  There wasn't a heartbeat but she said it may be to early.  She also saw an empty sac beside the one with the yolk.  She said it may have been a twin that didn't develope.  Has this happened to anyone?  Is there a possibility that the sac could develop?

Girl u have nothing to worry about, I had the same thing happen to me when i was pregnant with my twins. They saw one baby in one sac and they saw another sac but it was empty, i went back the next week and they saw two babies. so the other sac finally got the bean.. dont worry just pray that at least the one is ok. alright have a good day and i will keep u in my prayers

There is a phenomenon called Vanishing Twin in which a woman conceives twins or the egg splits but one of the twins disappears and is absorbed back into her body. Scientists are now looking into this theory that left-handed people are the result of a vanishing twin scenerio because of an egg splitting and leaving only one behind (the left-handed one).

You're still so early that it is possible you could have twins and the one just didn't have a yolk sac yet. But don't get your hopes up or be disappointed if that doesn't happen.

Jan 9.  Is when I go back.  They want to make sure they detect a heartbeat.

anything is posb. its so small when they do that and one could just be getting a slower start. when do you go back. i would say in about 2 weeks you should be able to see it  ( them )then. congrats

Im just 5 1/2 weeks.  I wonder if there is a possibility of twins.  Thanks for the prayers.

do they have any idea how far along you are? most time they cant see much until 6-7 weeks ex for a sac. maybe your  early. keep ya in my prayers
