Amniotic fluid leak at 9 weeks pregnant!

Hi.

I am absolutely terrified, as last night when i was 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant, I had a gush of clear-type, stringy water burst through my underwear as i was sitting on my couch last night. I stood up instantly and it ran down my legs!
(The amount was about 30 mils or so, NOT EXAGERATING!)

Anyways, i went straight to the emergency and they told me i probably peed myself.

But i have had a baby before and i KNOW it was NOT pee!

It had the exact same smell as my water did when i went into labor with my first child!

I know this is gross, but it smelt like chlorine or male semen, I’d say more like male semen, and that's what exactly what my water smelt like when it broke with my daughter at term.

Can I just state, I have "NOT" had any sexual intercourse in over 2 weeks as i have be told not to because I have a subchorionic hematoma!

When they examined me Vaginaly, they could no longer seek my mucus plug, and said it was gone.
I had a vaginal exam from my regular DR two days ago and his said my plug was there when he checked.

I had an ultrasound this morning...the day after i had that water gush and the baby was fine with a heartbeat of 170 BPM and it was measuring up to the size it's supposed to!

Please, any advice is really appreciated!.

Thank you, Samantha.

I'd do like Majikat said and call your dr. I don't know why they wouldn't have tested. I really can't tell you anything else. But I would definitely call the dr now and ask about the results of the ultrasound, or ask about getting the test to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid.

The results showed that the baby is still in a sac that appears to be containing some fluid. But they didn't messure the levels of fluid.

I am very angry with the lack of testing they did!

OMG they did NOT test for Amniotic fluid in my vagina, all they did was have a look inside and tell me i lost my plug!

I wish so badly that they had done that now!!!

I was deffinitely NOT a bulid up of vaginal discharge! It was the same fluid that occured when my waters broke with my daughter! It even smelt EXACTLY the same!

Do you think that maybe i had an extra sac with no baby, and maybe that sac ruptured and caused the gush!?

But i have had 4 ultrasounds since i was 5 weeks along and they have only ever seen one sac, is it posibble they've missed it??

Thanks

If they did a vaginal exam, I assume they tested for the amniotic fluid, and if they did and it came back negative it wasn't your water breaking. I had a similar issue last Thursday, and went to L&D but I'm 24 weeks pregnant. I got there and that's what I was told. I wear liners and there was an instance during the day where I felt really wet down there and half an hour or so later when I went to pee my liner looked like I had filled it with pee earlier. The dr said that since the vagina is not a straight tube that mucous could puddle in it and come out quickly. They had me cough during the exam just to see if they could see anything coming out, but nothing did. Your mucous plug can regenerate. I would think the ultrasound would have shown a lower level of fluid if you did lose any...I would ask your dr to do another exam to test for infections/bacterial vaginosis. That's what the dr told me as well, I got put on antibiotics for BV, and he said watery discharge can be a sign.

Nope it wasn't vaginal discharge AT ALL! :(

It was so much it ran down almost all the way to my feet in a fast gush! It all happened in about 3 seconds!

Are you sure it just wasn't vaginal discharge because I have it alot and my dr told me that it would incease throughout the pregancy but it does feel as that you have peed on yourself when it happens that's why I keep pantiliners on what color is it?
