Are you drinking the recommended amount of water everyday?

The recommended amount of water to drink while pregnant is 64 ounces!!! I am 20 weeks now and I know I am not drinking enough. So I measured out 64 ounces yesterday and drank it all throughout the day. I never realized how much you have to drink! Needless to say, I was going to the bathroom ALL day and probably went through a roll of TP. So do you drink enough water???

I absolutely can not drink 64 ounces of water a day so I try to mix it up a little.  I really like Gatorade so I drink one 32 ounce bottle of Gatorade a day.  Then, I only have to drink 32 ounces of water a day.  My Dr. said that would be fine to do if I had to!!

I'm 32 weeks and I don't drink enough water ever. I drink like maybe three 8 oz glasses a day. I used to drink even less than that but I would sometimes get cramps and my doctor told me to drink more water. Well it worked to prevent the cramps. I know that in pregnancy they have you drink a lot of water because that is what keeps your amniotic fluid at the right level. I haven't had a problem with my fluid level... so that is good. I really need to concentrate on drinking more water. I heard from my sister that if you drink too much water you get bloated with water weight... maybe that is what was preventing me... the fear of looking like a balloon? :)

Last pregnancy in March, I cut down ice tea and soda mostly from my diet and replaced it with water. I find it easier if I buy the 16oz water bottles. I make sure I drink them everyday. Now this pregnancy I am thirsty all the time, so I find it a lot easier, and I drink maybe 5 of those 16 oz bottles and one cup of soda or ice tea.

Here's what I do to get all my water:

Get some type of 32ounce cup- and fill it up half way. (I use the water fountain here at work-that way I get up and move around more too) Simply refill 3 more times-BOOM-you got your 64 ounces. Also-I use a straw-seems to make the water go down easier.

I find that using a big cup and filling it half way makes the amount of water less "intimdating" ya know :)

Ahhh...okay so I can count milk. I drink a few glasses of that a day.

Miko, I just know that they recommend women to drink at least 6 glasses of 8 ounces of water which equals 48. I have just heard to drink between 48-64 ounces.  :)

They say that you dont have to drink just 64oz. of water but just fluids in general like juice or milk! So that helps!

I didn't know we were supposed to drink 64 ounces of water...all my doctor told me "Drink during the day until you urine is clear...", but I guess it takes 64 ounces for urine to be clear all day...
