I didn't have any symptoms either, funny isn't it, how it comes & goes too. I didn't know anything about it until the swab results came back with it, not even a discharge, nothing. My Dr said around 60% of women self medicating for yeast infections have BV it's that common.  I keep having swabs taken to check that it hasn't come back and so far they've been fine- though have taken numerous treatments for yeast infections.

I have/probably still have BV starting my 1st trimester. I was given clindamycin cream inserts. However, It gave me really bad intesinal pains, so I discontinued. Since I had no symptoms of BV, my doctor told me its ok not to take anything, and to to let him know, if I have any problems, and now I am 32 weeks without any problems so far, just excessive greenish discharge at times. He will do another test at my appt end of this week and we will go from there.

Hi there, I suffered from BV in my last pregnancy 3 1/2 years ago. They like to clear it up quickly in pregnancy as there is apparently a link with premature labour...that's why they checked me as I was having recurring prem contractions. I'm not sure in the first trimester as it was quite late in my pregnancy but they treated mine with metronidazole oral tablets...I know they can give you a gel type thing for it called metrogel (I think) Also stop using perfumes shower/bath products. I now use a feminine wash that is pH balanced for down there and  I haven't had it back since (touch wood!) I'm just getting yeast infection after yeast infection instead!! Good Luck!
