Baby Insurance

I was just wondering, if my boyfriend and I are not married but he is going to be the only one working when the time the baby comes because I will still be in school. Can the baby go on his insurance or does it have to go on mine becaue we are not married?

that sucks that your guys state insurance is ****. i have mine through the department of social and health services (DSHS) here in washington and its awesome..it covers everything my baby, me, dental and vision..and all i had to do was send in 2 months worth of pay stubs and fill out a paper..good luck to all of you! :)

yeah i dont recommend getting on state insuracnce it sick here in illinois as well i work at a clinic and they get a hard time i say put the baby under the fathers insurance less hassle and you won't have to beg for the state to assist you and you won't have to look at a caseworker face to get redetermined. but to each it's on. goodluck .

since you dont work and are still in school you should be able to get state medicaid and then the baby would be 100% covered, even after the baby is born.  i was 16 when i had my daughter and she is now 7 and is still covered by state insurance. i am also 18 weeks preggo with my 2nd and i work full time as a manager of a hair salon and i have state assistance with this one too.

Depending on just how much he makes you could get the baby on medicaid... But yeah if he is the father he can claim the baby on his insurance...
Good luck!
