That's very true. It's so hard but it's worth keeping baby safe. Thanks everyone for the info
I was told not to bath at all first trimester. Second and third trimester is okay as long as water is not too hot and you are not in there too long. Personally, i love taking baths but im giving them up completely. Better to be safe than sorry!
wow, thanks for this question! I would have never even thought about bathing during pregnancy.
Hmm really that's interesting! Haven't heard that one before. Did it say why?
Thanks clysta for the info
I just read today that soaking longer than 30 mins in a bath can increase your chance for a urinary tract infection.
As long as the temperature is not over 100 it should be fine. Generally you should be able to get in without wincing.
Ok thank you :)
How hot is to hot?? I have taken them so long that I'm so used to hot hot so what would be a good temp that wouldn't affect the baby? I have read about 100 is that right?
baths are sfae during pregnancy, just not too hot! If your getting all red and have to inch yourself into the bath then its to hot, and will raise your body temp to much, thats where the problem lies, they are wonderful for relaxation and you dont need to give them up, just monitor your the temp you have them, the only other time you shouldnt have a bath is if your watersa have broken as this can introduce infection, then you should shower :)
Hot baths increase your core body temp which can be harmful to the baby. Ask your doc at your next appt
