Thank you ladies and its the nipple, I have heard that maybe it's a plugged duct and I do nurse on it still
Is it the breast or the nipple? My first thought is it could be a plugged duct, which even though it hurts you actually want to nurse on it as much as possible or it could get worse and turn into matesis. I had one while nursing my last baby, and it really hurts, I think there were a few other things you can do to help it but I cant remember what it was.
I started introducing a bottle at a week old as my nipples were so sore and he was feeding 24/7 and it hurt. If you can, get Lansonol / Lansinoh for your nipples - it's an absolute godsend for sore nipples, apply it several times a day and it doesn't need to be washed off before you feed again. My boy took to the bottle great and goes from breast - bottle - breast no problems at all :) I use the anti-colic Avent bottles with the teats designed on a nipple (apparently), he is almost breastfed exclusively unless we are going out in which case he gets a bottle cause I don't like BFing in public, and gets a bottle to help him through his growth spurts otherwise I'd be on the couch with him all day lol. He is 6 weeks this thursday coming x
