I was dialted 3 for 2 months with my first and I was dialted to 5 for a month with my second.... I am now 25 weeks with my 3rd.
your vagina is going to start getting a bit swollen and irritated, mostly because of the increased amount of fluids and blood in your body, its normal to be very sensitive and maybe hurt down there weeks before your due date.
The more pregnancies you have, the better chance you have of dilating sooner.. When I was pregnant with my last one I started dilating at 27 weeks.. I was like 3 cm up until I was about 37..... Then I shot up to 4 and stayed there.....It's normal... As long as your hands are clean before you insert * which obivoulsy they are you don't want to infect anything lol* then it's ok.. It's actaully a good idea to become familiar with the feel of your cervix ...... I did with all my pregnancies... :D
Some women dilate a little early. It doesn't mean anything each time. You can stay dilated for weeks before labour. It's also possible to never progress. You should refrain from touching anywhere inside you though. If you're unfamiliar you don't really know what you're touching and you can also induce bacteria and infection into there. This is another reason doctors only do a few exams while pregnant.
Thanks!! I kinda know the whole dialate to a ten thin out ordeal.. I guess i just want to know if its normal for 33 weeks along? This is my third so maybe thsts why?
From your description, it sounds to me that your cervix is starting to soften, thin and dialate. (I used to be an OB nurse!) As you progress your cervix will become paper thin (thickness) and open to 10 centimeters. If it felt like "hole" and you were able to insert your fingertip, I am guessing that you are 1-2cm dialated. The mucous you pulled out could be your mucous plug? Good luck and watch for symptoms of labor!!!
Also forgot to add that upon removing my fingers i pulled out a lot of cm a huge goup of it snotty thick looking which like i said i dont really have a good relationship w my inner parts so maybe that was nirmal?
