Confused

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby since December.  My last period was April 30th and I haven't had one since then.  I took 2 home tests in June which came back negative.  I also had a blood test that was also negative.  I just took a test today and it came back positive but I've not had any symptoms.  I'm wondering is it possible to not have any symptoms and still be pregnant? And if it is would it also be possible that it was too soon when I took the tests in June and it's just now showing up positive? Or could I have gotten pregnant during the month of June? I'm so confused I just need some advice.  Thank you

this sort of thing actually happened to me. I wasn't trying for a baby though. The last time I had had a period was sometime in june...even then I couldn't pin point the date. By september  I was starting to get symptoms and I took a test but it came up negative. I didn't get a positive HPT until early october. Went in for my ultrasound and I was 10 weeks. So even though I hadn't had a period since june I conceived in august.

I would still go to the DR on tuesday you just never know.

I called the ob/gyn and they told me that it doesn't matter if my test in june was negative because they go by the LMP so since mine was April 30 they want me to come in asap.

If I'm only 4 weeks I don't want to go to the doctors too soon in case they don't see anything.

The reason you most likely conceived in June is because your blood test came up negative and it is completely possible to conceive even if you haven't gotten your period in a couple months. A lot of people are mistaken about this but your periods are caused by ovulation. If you ovulated late (say you did ovulate in May but you ovulated in June) than you would have never gotten a period because your body wouldn't have been getting rid of the egg. When you go to your doctors appointment they should be able to explain it better. Also they may do an ultrasound to determine your dates (I'd wait a couple weeks though so you dont freak yourself out if they dont see anything) and they should 2 two hcg blood tests 48-72 hours apart to determine if your levels are rising like they should.

The appt. for Tuesday is for my ob/gyn. They told me they go by my LMP which would make me 9 weeks.  So I'm hoping that it's not too soon.

So it is possible to conceive if you don't have a period? I'm just confused about my period being in April and then none since then and just now getting a positive test.

I would phone your Dr. and ask for an appointment for another blood test. It sounds like you may have concieved in June. Although, the no period since April is odd? Best of luck and SSBD!! I hope you are pregnant, since you are actively TTC. =)

If your blood test came up negative than most likely you got pregnant in June. Blood tests can detect pregnancy within a week of conceiving so they are SUPER accurate. As far as symptoms go its different from pregnancy to pregnancy. I wouldn't be concerned if you have none at all in fact I would consider you lucky. As far as morning sickness and that kind of stuff it doesn't usually start happening up your are 6+ weeks pregnant and right now you would be about 4. So just hold in there I'm sure it will be coming soon!

You can be without symptoms and be pregnant yes as this has happened to me. I found out I was pregnant at  22 weeks, But I was 5 stone and physically couldnt have the baby so I had to terminate but i wanted that baby more than anything. But Yes you can be pregnant and have NO symptoms at all. :) It is rare to get a False Positive, so you ARE pregnant! :)
And it takes some people longer to get a positive than others. So I suggest getting to your doctors and midwifes and things :) YAY!
