Yeah ^ they're a lot worse than period cramps. But the pain is still manageable.  At least for me. I waited at home till I was 9cm and went to hospital had my baby within an hour. I didn't want meds and the pain wasn't that bad for meds anyway.  But could feel differently for everyone else.

If they are a bad period cramp I think I will be able to hold that pain but I have ask other ladies where I live and they have told me that contractions are worst than period cramps.

I haven't had my son yet but I've been in preterm labor twice so I know what they feel like the first few hours...it was different than any pain id felt during my pregnancy...it started as a kind of cramping in my lower back and then slowly wrapped around to my lower abdomen/pelvic area and cramped and almost felt like a burning sensation. True contractions go in a pattern. Mine started out lasting about 60 seconds and being exactly 5 minutes apart and by the time they finally stopped them they were 30 seconds long and 2 minutes apart. And the pain got more intense as time passed.
