Could I be the father?

I was briefly seeing a young lady in September.  We had sex for the first time on the 24th, and I used a condom.  Unfortunately, we thought it was a good idea to not use a condom on the 26th, and also several days after that.  I later learned that she was also having unprotected sex with another guy.  According to her, she is now pregnant and has a due date of June 11.  She claims she had sex with the other guy during the whole month of September, including the 19th and later.  She said her sonogram indicates she would have gotten pregnant on the 19th.  According to her, her LMP was September 5.  Does this all sound correct?  Is there any chance I could be the father?

Doubt it, like I said, but seriously consider a dna test, ur mind won't rest and u won't be at peace until u know for sure!

From what you've said, it sounds less likely you are the father. However, the only way you're gonna know for sure is with a dna test.

Thank you for the replies.  For those of you who are saying it could be a toss up, would you say there is a higher chance of it not being mine?  I'm just new to this stuff and it confuses me greatly.  I really did learn my lesson and I will never be careless again.

I agree that you need a dna test. Playing a guessing game otherwise.

I'm a nurse in mother-baby care, and in my professional opinion, I would get a DNA test. There is a 7 day window...around ovulation/conception. DNA tests in my area are $475 and you can get the results in 3-5 days. In my personal opinion, I am doubting you are, but then again my x was in the same.position as you, and he is the father (did a dna test). Good luck!

I 100% agree with mamaof4410.  Ovulation is not an exact science, so unless she was being monitored by a Dr. (usually due to fertility issues) there is no possible way to know when she ovulated.  The dates are too close to know for certain without a dna test.  This will have to happen after the baby is born as dna testing during pregnancy is an invasive procedure.  Best of luck to you.

She needs to have a DNA test done. The dates are to close given that sperm can survive in the vagina anywhere from 5 to 7 days in perfect conditions, but it only takes 1 sperm. Its a toss up at this point. A test would be the only way to know. Like STEF110 saidf I hope you learned your lesson also. Good Luck to you, her and the other guy in this mess,

They have reverse due date calculators online. When I put in her due date it said she would of concieved between September 12-19. But really that is based on an average 28 day cycle. I looked up September 26 as a conception day and it said the due date would be June 18, 2012. I would say probably not, but you never know. Hopefully you learned your lesson.

Now that is if her cycle was normally regular. Ie: every 28 days and ovulating on the 14th day. Of the doctor said it was likely the 19th then she would be regular and you have next to nothing to worry about.

It sounds about right. You ovulate about 2 weeks after you start your period. So she would be ovulating near the 19th. If you didn't have unprotected sex until the 26th then its very unlikely that you are the father. She would have already been pregnant before you had sex the first time. So I wouldn't worry too much. It's more likely to be the other guys since she was having sex with him when she was ovulating. It's very unlikely to be yours according to the dates you told us.
