Yes @ceceliamorgan! I love the fleece tie blankets! My son got 1 from the hospital, (he gets monthly blood transfusions & they give them to most children to keep them warm). I'm gonna try one myself for my daughter! ☺
I've been making a lot of tutus to match bows I have so when she's born I can do a lot of pictures. I want to be a photographer and my husband spent hundreds for me to get a good camera, my own laptop, and an amazing photo editing program but my 2 year old won't cooperate anymore so she's next lol.
That's the same with me I sew as well. So pretty much I everything I do is with sewing machine quilts receiving blankets the washcloths etc lol. But I've seen a lot of ppl buy the fleece and make the tie blankets I've heard their pretty easy :-)
I sew and I'm making receiving blankets for my little one.
What are the best and easiest ways to make blankets?
That sounds sooo cute April! :-)
I'm making a photo album type of scrap book, kinda like a time line.
My bf & I are 5 days apart, he was born 1st.
So its gonna start with a page of him and I as new borns then 2nd page both at the age of one and so on. It'll pretty much show what we both looked liked at the same age and anything we remember liking at that age.
Up until we meet. Then pictures of both of us together.
And once we got our dog.
Then we got the "you're pregnant" surprise and everything up until baby gets here.
Then we'll continue with the baby and all of us.
It's kinda complicated to explain lol
@ladybeeley alright thanks, I guess I'll give it a try. Still have 10 weeks left anyhow.
Those are all great ideas you mommies have come up with! & I thought I was creative.lol
Instead of doing a baby book I'm making a pallet picture frame (Pinterest). And at the top it will say "At this moment time stood still" at the top.
So far ive finished her quilt, and made three receiving blankets out of the left over material. Then I made her and my son flannel washclothes. Again just used the left over material from both their quilts Right now im working on her curtains for her bedroom, then im making her pj pants. :-)
No I had been crocheting about a yr but it wasnt hard. All I did before hers was blankets bc I only knew how to do straight lines lol
@drakenobe OMG!!! I CHOSE A MINNIE MOUSE 1 OFF ETSY TOO.lol thats what I wanted her pictures to be-her shower is Minnie mouse themed. The only reason I didn't go ahead & order it is because most of the reviews said it was drowning their newborns. I though I'd ask around to see if people I actually know could make it.
@ladybeeley I am definitely scared to try, especially because I've NEVER crocheted before. Did you just start when you were making hers?
And if you aren't brave enough to try crocheting for yourself, Esty has some super cute listings! I found an adorable Minnie mouse newborn outfit that I would have bought if I was having a girl.
I crocheted it. I made a white gown out of her great grandmothers favorite white yarn and her great grandmother had learned to crochet just to send me a pink flower so I put that on the hat I made for her :) it took me about 3hrs to make the whole outfit and I have it put away so when she is having a baby if its a girl she can use it too :) follow the crochet tutorials on youtube. Thats what I did!
@ladybeeley how did you make an outfit??? I REALLY want a crocheted outfit to bring my baby home in or at leadt take pics at the hospital, but can't find anyone that knows how.
I've only made beanies and a scrap book.
When i have more money I'll do more :) its an awesome distraction
I'm painting canvases for my little boy's room. I did one with pandas and his name. Now, I'm on to shapes. Like one is a huge circle with "Circle" written under it.
I made the whole outfit my daughter came home in, drew all the pictures hanging in her room, decorated letters to spell her name on the door, made who knows how many blankets, made a cupcake hat and a lorax hat and so many flowers and headbands lol. Yeah cant wait to find out what baby 2 will be.
I'm having a boy and making a blanket too. I also want to make him a pillow even though he won't be able to use it for awhile (:
