Cramps & Child birth

I have had bad period type cramping since about 19 weeks (so 4ish weeks now). They are just like period cramps not contractions (been to L&D and no contractions were seen on the moniter)

So my question is for women who have had children before and had cramps like this; did you go to term or deliver early?

If you can add how early you went and when the cramping started that would be very useful as well. Thanks!

Thanks JoyRenee!  I know they are contractions just not contraction contractions ..if that makes sense LoL.  I guess I'm just paranoid with my heart conditions etc that something will happen.

I went full-term. When you are on your period and you have cramps, those are uterine contractions. So it's the same in this case. You are experiencing contractions. But real labor cramps will be felt all over your belly, not just down low. The reason the hospital contraction monitor didn't pick it up was because the belt was probably positioned mid-belly when your cramps were down low.

I hope that helps!
