Cute ideas to tell Hubby!!??
As most of you know...I just found out I'm Pregnant (just this past Tuesday) and I haven't told my husband yet..which has been SOO hard! But I've always wanted to do something special to let him know and finally I have the chance! The first time he was right there and saw the test, the second time he knew I was testing..and now finally I can surprise him! I'm just looking for something cute and fun!
Kirsty gave me a great idea...Father's Day is just around the corner! June 15th in the US...and I'm telling him Sunday June 1st because I want him to be able to come with me to the first appointment on Monday. So I know it will be 2 weeks early, but I think a cute father's day card with the test wrapped up would be cute! What do you girls think? Other ideas are welcomed!!

df knows we're having a boy already, but i bought a couple little onsies and bibs and bottles that say big boy, or handsome, or daddy/son something....and i even found this 1 onesie, that says goodlooks run in the family, and it's baby blue with blue and white writing!!!

Thanks again! I am super excited to do this! LOL we go to bed together and he usually wakes up first but I usually have a hard time sleeping so I'll sneak in the middle of the night and plant everything! The only thing is, I don't have any baby stuff. We only bought 2 bibs last time and they were for our parents..so they say "I love Grandma, I love Grandpa" and I really have no time to get anything due to work so I'll make due with what I have! I did run out and get a "first daddys day card" its so cute and has little baby hands on the front and I picked up 2 digitals. I think I'll take it tomorrow am since he is working and won't see me doing it.
I just need to think of cute lil baby type things that I might have on hand that I can plant. Maybe I can swing by Walmart and pick up some small baby sample stuff...ohh I can't wait!
Also, I was thinking of wrapping the bibs up (we got a set for each of our parents from the first time we got Pregnant) and sending them wrapped to our photographer...so when she sends the albums to them she can send the bibs along..with a little note saying don't open until you look through album...or something like that. So right after they see the U/S they open up the bibs!

I love your plan!! Definitely go w/the digital - thats what I used. Guys are sometimes a bit dense when it comes to decoding the lines! ;) He's going to be so thrilled. Congrats and enjoy the moment!
if you get up before him or go to bed later than him saturday night...you can do what you said but also plant little baby items in places he normally goes in the morning,.... baby socks in his sock drawer....some baby shampoo in the shower.....a set of baby dishes in the cabinet...a bottle in with the cups...the card in the fridge.

For all the months I did pictures of my kids or me and my husband....like for april (my hubbys bday) I put his pic....december I put a copyu of the kids christmas portrait, etc....but for august when i'm due i put a copy of my first ultrasound pic and on my due date wrote "maybe baby" and a cute little poem I made up that i don't even remember now lol.

OMG my husband just got home from work and we were just talking and out of no where he goes..."baby aren't you late" and I go "huh" and he's like "for your period..?" and I am such a BAD LIAR cuz I never do it and he totally caught me off guard and I was just like...umm I dunno you know I'm not keeping track of any of that (cuz he knows we weren't trying this month) and he goes..ohh okay, well if we were Pregnant that would be so awesome! And he smiled and gave me a big hug and a kiss! It just got me even more excited to tell him! AHH I can't wait! I'm going out tonight to buy a Digital so it actually says PREGNANT..I'm gonna wrap that and the other one up...and I'm going to get a Father's Day Card...write some nice stuff in it and write is it Caiden James or Brielle Rylin?? Those are the boy and girl names we have picked out...and I think I might put the card in the fridge on top of the eggs because he's planning to cook me breakfast Sunday morning. Thats my plan so far! :)

The only thing is I don't know when I'm getting an U/S and before I do this I want to make sure everything is okay with the baby...but we thought it was a great idea!

To tell my hubby: I took my HPT really early in the morning (like 4 am - yeah, I was anxious! lol) and hid it away, then went back to bed. He woke up a couple hours later and got in the shower. While he was in there, I put the HPT in the refridgerator next to his Pepsi (he drinks one every morning) with a sticky-note next on it that said "Good morning, Daddy!"... I jumped back into bed and waited. He came into the bedroom a little while later holding the test with the biggest, happiest smile I've ever seen.
The way we told my parents was by getting a cute picture frame and putting the words "Photo Arriving in September" inside the frame! We had recently gone to a winery out of town and told them we got them a souvenir there.... Seeing their tearful happiness when they unwrapped the "souvenir" was priceless!
Have fun, and remember that no matter how you tell him it'll be special and unforgettable! :)

ok, I was thinking you could put a bib under your shirt, and get him to listen to your stomach, (being that u will be hungry...LOL) Then ask him you know why? And then get him to lift your shirt and he'll see the baby bib! Make sure it says I love my Daddy! hehehehe

I'm pretty sure I'm not getting an U/S because I will only be between 5-6 weeks and I think they are just doing bloodwork. But I know he would really want to be there and I dont know if I could wait another 2 weeks to tell him! And I think during Father's Day weekend we're going Camping so it would be hard to get alone time to actually tell him in a special way. But it would be so cute if I got an U/S picture and put it in the card but its very important to us both that he's there for it. But thanks for the suggestion!

I had a good friend of mine who was a tattoo artist paint a replica pic of the ultrasound on my belly. He used non toxic airbrush paint, and when hubby came home from work I had a bunch of his friends over with the baby's ultrasound pic painted on their tummy's aswell.
With my youngest son, I had all his family and my family get sympothy bellies from his mom who was a health teacher, and we all dressed up in hospital gowns and wore the sympothy bellies lol.
This one he knew about, I took the HPT while he was brushing his teeth lol and I told him he needed to buy more tooth paste because we are adding another baby to the family.

You could add another plate to your table and when he asks why, you can either tell him later or tell him "because I have to eat for 2 now" or something along those lines. It is special for your hubby to be with you for your first ultrasound, but it would be cool to wait until Father's Day and put the u/s in his card.
The only problem is I'm telling him over breakfast/brunch. I have to be at work for 5:00 so we can't do dinner. Any ideas for cute baby breakfast ideas? I'm definitely going with the Father's Day card and wrapping the test...I would love to play a hint game too, see if he can figure it out!
awww.... sounds like a really cute idea!! he'll love it. you should take a picture of his reaction. he may get suspicious when you whip out the camera, but just tell him you found a really great gift for him and you figured he could make good use of it right away.

That is a really cute idea, but i think you should also try to cook him dinner or order out dinner. But have like BABY back ribs, BABY carrots, BABY sweet peas, or whatever you could think of. And then see if he can figure it out. i always thought it would be so much fun.
I think you should wrap the test up in a box or a little baggy, and cook him a dinner with "baby" food.. like Baby veggies, and stuff.. Ya know.. Kind of a baby theme to it.. Or get like a cute lil' t-shirt made that say's "Baby in the oven" and wear a gown and let him "unwrap" you......... Or just put the test in the bag and tell him you have a present for him.
