Different Blood Types and getting Pregnant

I have read that before you try and get pregnant you and the person you are trying with need to take a blood test to find out what blood type you and the other person is. My husband I know is O+ I dont know knoe what his RH is. Im not sure  what blood type I am I know I had a lot of blood work when I had first found out I was pregnant and when I had my miscarriage. My question is do different blood types have any affect on the fetus?? I have read that it does Im just wondering if any of you girl knew or not

Your Dr should know your Rh factor. You should call him and ask him. If you are Rh+, you don't have a thing to worry about. If you're Rh- you will have to get the shot. No big deal. This is my fourth child and I'm Rh-.

FYI, Rh- shares the same blood type as the Rhesus Monkey......I just think that's funny...lol

The + or - after the blood type tells you the RH factor. So if he's O+, he's RH+.

I am A-. We're not sure what my husband is, but I have to get a shot called RhoGAM in my 28th week and during labor so my body doesn't produce antibodies to fight off my baby, or any babies I might have after this one.

So to answer your question, blood types only effect the fetus if the baby and you shared different RH factors, and your blood mixed. Sorry for your loss.

Blood type shouldn't have anything to do with it....my h is O- i think and i'm A+...we've had 3 kids together so far and another on the way....You CAN have you RH checked...but they check for that during pregnany anyway.

Skyllnnsmom is right. ANy blood type is fine - it is your Rh factor that matters. If you had blood work done then they should have blood typed you. Google "Rh Factor" and it will explain it. I think if you are negative and your hubby is positive then you could have some problems. They have to give you a shot etc. Good luck!!
