Here is my story. Last thursday 01/27 I took a pregnancy test which came out almost immediatly positive! I was excited and took two more to be sure over the course of that weekend and all three were positive. I had an apppointment scheduled with obgyn on monday. At the appt, they did their own urine test and it came out negative. So the doctor did an U/S and saw that my uterus was very thick, but saw no sack. She did notice a dark spot in there. She then suggested they take a blood test. By then I had started to spot in the office when I did the urine test. it was SUPER light, only noticable really when I wiped.
WE did the blood test and She called me this afternoon and said, yes I was pregnant and my hormone levels were at 124 but she thought i was going to miscarry but she didnt know for sure, and that she really had no idea what was going on. Today the bleeding got a little heavier, not nearly close to as heavy as a period, and very inttermittent. Like i can go for about 3 hrs and no blood will show then it will trickle a little and then come out (sorry if tmi). She wants to repeat the test tomarrow and said she wasnt very optimistic.
Has anyone experienced this? I mean, I thought miscarriages were supposed to be very very heavy and painful? I havent had any cramps and BARELY any blood. Im so scared i want this baby so bad. Does this sound like a miscarriage to anyone?
For some people spotting in early pregnancy can be normal. With my first son, i had spotting and bleeding from 6-15 weeks. I have also had 2 m/cs, neither was overly painful. Unfortunately at this point only time will tell. The blood levels will help to know what is going on one way or the other. Good luck to you.
at the beginning of this pregnancy i had a few positive home pregnancy tests but the docs urine tests were saying negative. then i went for a blood test which came back positive. i went to the hospital with stomach cramps and they did a ultrasound and did not find a baby at all. and my hormone levels were really low. they kept me over night because they thought i was misscarrying. then in the morn they sent me for another ultrasound and they seen a spot on my ovary which they said could be a regular cyst you get during pregnancy or a baby which would mean it was going to be a tubal pregnancy and would have to be terminated. they sent me home and told me to come back in a few days to see if my hormone levels were rising and when i came back they found out that they were rising as they should be. they sent me for another ultrasound about a week or two later and on that ultrasound they found 2 sacks one with a baby and the other they were not sure if it was a failed twin or a small bleed. now i am 26 weeks and everything seems to be just fine. my last 2 ultrasounds show one healthy baby and that other sack must have been reabsorbed.
I'm sorry but your doctor needs to go back to school. She should know better than anyone that with levels at only 124 you won't see anything on the sonogram. And she should be giving you hope, not dire news and just guessing that you're going to miscarry.
Sorry, that just makes me angry for you because now you're here and all worried and anxious!!! You poor thing! Bleeding does not always mean miscarriage. Getting another test is a good thing. Because your doctor, if she had any brains, would know that it isn't the initial number that matters but that your levels are increasing every 48-72 hours (they should double in that time frame; though rising 60% is the minimum).
I had an ultrasound and doctors didn't see my pregnancy until OB did a transvaginal ultrasound and there it was. My hormones were quite a bit higher. If it is more likely that you recently fell pregnant you won't see much of anything..
I went in today to give them some more blood and they gave me a RH shot. They told me I was RH- so they needed to give me this shot. I have been an emotional rollar coaster for days! She said she would call tomarrow with the results but "she isnt very optomistic". That REALLY makes me feel better JoyRenee knowing that she shouldnt see anything on the U/S. To be perfectly honest i dont think she even expected the blood tests to come back with any Hcg in them at all.
Ill let you all know what the tests say when she calls tomarrow. thank you all for your information.
I agree that the doctor is kind of a jerk being so negative and making you worry so much. Have them check your levels 2-3 times to make sure they are rising (doubling every 2-3 days like Joy said) and that is how you know your pregnancy is viable. They can't see anything on an ultrasound immediately - not until at least 6 weeks, I don't think - I have never had one even that early - usually they don't do the first one until 8 weeks at the earliest. As far as the bleeding, lots of women spot and bleed in early pregnancy, so don't stress too much about that yet. I wish you the best and I hope it all turns out OK for you!
Well go tthe results they went down to 106, and then went back up to 130 two days later. I stopped spotting on friday. It is possible I could still have a healthy pregnancy? she wants me to take this mediation to make the miscarriage start, but im worried.
