Thank you all so much! Should be getting the results in the next few hours! I will be sure to post them! Thanks again!
Yay! Good luck I am so happy for you :). Spotting after any sort of internal exam in pregnancy can and usually does cause spotting. Your cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy.
Did not know they could do a pap that early in the pregnancy? With my first son i went in to get on the pill they had to do a pap she asked me if I could be pregnant I said no he told me he could not have kids. Any way she came in and said well we will not be doing the pap today you are pregnant. I guess they are doc and know what they are doing.
A woman should always have a doctor who listens to her and makes her feel comfortable. I'm glad you found someone you like! I hope they end up being the very best to meet your needs during your pregnancy. Okay now *I* can't wait for your results. Post them as soon as you know!!! I hated waiting for my labs as well. This pregnancy I actually had labs a whole week apart because of a blizzard but they were fine (I just did the math to figure if they were on target and they actually tripled; no twins though! Just one strong baby).
I had bright red spottign after my Pap when pregnant, too. It's scary! But try not to worry. Seems pretty common.
About the pap- I had a pap at my first appt with my last pregnancy and also had spotting. The pregnant cervix is a little more proned to spotting after a pap. It's normal and I wouldn't worry if I were you.
I too am delighted that you found a dr that cares, understands and listens. A good dr is so valuable. I was with a terrible dr for 2 years and had no progress. When I switched dr's I started seeing immediate results. Once I did get preggo and it didn't work out, she let me do what I thought was right and didn't pressure me to terminate the pregnancy. When I got preggo again, she was sure to give me extra monitoring just because she knew it would make us BOTH feel better. Many times you know more about your body and rhythm than a dr does and you can get so much farther when you have someone with expertise that LISTENS to you.
I hope you get the results you are looking for!
I spotted and bled heavily for four weeks during my pregnancy with dd and she turned out fine. Anytime you have a pelvic or a cervix check in pregnancy it can irritate your cervix making it bleed. I bled in the first trimester from the pelvic, plus my progesterone was very low. Then in the third trimester whenever I got checked I spotted for up to two days afterwards.
I'm so glad that you found a doctor who addresses your concerns. I found that my midwife was very compassionate. I loved her! She also checked my progesterone at my first blood draw and then again when the bleeding started. She started me progesterone supplements and I was able to continue my pregnancy. DD is now 10 weeks old! Good Luck!
I'm glad you found someone who understands your concerns! That's always a relief. I hope your numbers look good and that you survive this weekend!! I hate waiting as well!
Glad that your appointment went so well! I can't say I've ever spotted after any form of internal, but I do know it's common that women do just because of irritation and the cervix being so much more sensitive. I always cramped after I had mine. Hope that the weekend passes really fast for you!
