Finding it hard to eat at times, will my baby be okay?

Im at 22 weeks today and still getting morning sickness. Its deff. Not as bad as in first trimester but some days im just a tiny quesy in the stomach and makes me not have a appetite for a pretty much the first half of tbe day.....also tho.. I used to smoke weed heavily before pregnant so not smoking weed kinda makes me have no appetite so I e been trying to deal with that. . & from time to time I do take a hit of weed on those bad days & I feel all better

I've lost weight with all 3 of my pregnancies because of no appetite and vomiting, and I have 2 healthy little ones and another one in the way....unless you're vomiting so much that you're dehydrated and hospitalized, usually even the worst morning sickness isn't going to harm the baby. (if you were THAT sick they would admit you for having HG and keep you on fluids).

Trust me...every day it's a struggle for me to even think about food, much less force myself to eat it, and it's a 50/50 chance that it will come back up....but I keep at it! just one of those parts of pregnancy that you have to learn to cope with....since they drug test many babies at birth, I wouldn't risk it by continuing to smoke weed, all possible unknown affects to the fetus aside.

Baby will take everything it needs from your body, so as long as you DO eat something it will be fine. I was extremely ill while pregnant as was eating once a day or once every other day and my daughter is a very smart, very healthy 16 month old.

It IS however important to speak to your doctor about your drug use (and as much as you might hate it, it IS a drug and an illegal one at that) The effects might not be obvious, but can cause problems. My sister smoked it nonstop while pregnant with my niece (as well as endless amounts of cigarettes) and she came out healthy, albeit 5 weeks premature. She at birth seemed completely normal, however now at 18 months shows obvious signs of being behind others in certain aspects of development. Was it the drug use? We don't know, and likely never will. However if there is a risk it could do anything, is it worth it? Trust me, I understand how it feels to be sick. I've spent over 2 years feeling awful and having no appetite, but there are better ways to go about it and your doctor can give you the best advice at this point.

I smoked ciggarettes for 6 years and was the biggest stressball you could imagine if i needed a puff.. but the day i found out i was pregnant i didnt dare take another smoke of a ciggarette and you know what i was fine with it because i new that i was responsible now for another life and it made me happy noing i was doing the right thing .. and with nicotine and other chemicals in ciggarettes being proven to be more addictive than weed i'd deffo say stop! .. do what you think is right.. you'll feel really good about stopping.. i was also hospitalized with my sickness for 5 days and got 100% non harmfull meds from my GP which i only had to take for a short time anyway and my sickness went on its own which it will do .. its just a symptom of carrying your baby =).............. p.s eating a little less is a lot less harmful than smoking fact lol!! the doctor can percribe you something non harmful by the way instead of you using drugs

Anything you put into your body you are also giving to your baby.    You need to try to stop the drugs because it will make your baby dependant on them and thats not something that you want for you child.   Just because other people you know did it doesn't make it right.  You need to be honest with your Dr and tell them that you are smoking because it could effect alot with the baby.

I'm allergic to all kinds of smoke and I know that I have days where I just don't feel like eating anything but I make myself eat something just so that I know that the baby is getting what he needs.  Then there are days, that I swear I'm always hungry.  I don't think you can really use that as an excuse to not do what is best for you and your baby.
