Finding out the sex of baby Early???

Hi Ladies!! Maybe you can help me out...... yesterday i went for an ultrasound (downs screening) and I am almost 13 weeks! I had an AWSOME tech! and she probed all around and told me that i am having a boy..... (YAYYYYY) but since it was fairly early in the pregnancy she said she did not want to really CONFIRM IT... but she did take a pic of his little "parts" and swore it was a boy..... I do have another ultra sound in October and that one is to confirm the sex.... Sorry for rambling.... My question is.... How acurate do you think she can be about the sex of the baby at 13 weeks?

Thanks ladies!!! Oh the ultrasound was in 3D....i swear i had the nicest tech.... she flipped the switch (when i dont think she was suppose to...they are for high risk patients to better detect the birth defects) But she was really helpful..... I am keeping my fingers crossed for the boy but will keep my mouth closed until the next ultra sound just to make sure! Thanks for all the helpful stories!

i was told boys are easier to distinguish than girls...however i would wait until your next US to confirm for sure its a boy.. i have a friend who has a photo or her baby's parts and they prepared for a boy and she gave birth and it was a girl...another woman at my ob's office kept going for U/S due to her age etc.. every U/S up until 36 weeks said boy...36 weeks was confirmed a girl...she was so happy because this was going to be her 4th boy...she did have a girl.. i ended up seeing her at the mall one day.. crazy huh??? so really it seems as though it's 80-90% but there is still a %...3D u/s would probably be more accurate in determining the sex if you REALLY want to prepare...

at my downs test I swore I saw boy parts.  I asked the tech, who was not allowed to tell me, and she said that all babies have bumps down there at 12-13 weeks.  It turned out I did have a boy so I dont know if she was bs-ing me or not.  Congrats!

I have a friend on another forum that was told she was having a girl.  She got another ultrasound done a few weeks later and found out they were wrong.  She's having a boy!  lol  Thankfully she's only been given a couple girlie things that will now have to be returned!

I was told I was having a boy at about 13 weeks and guess what Im having a girl, I said why did that lady tell me that I was having a boy and the tech said well a girl can look like a girl that early so I wouldnt bet on it if I was you...I was 18 weeks when I found out for sure, luckily I didnt take the its a boy serious cause I didnt buy anything gender specific

I was told at 14 weeks 6 days that I was having a Boy and I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and they were right on the money!! BOY!! And like the other posters said, usually if they say its a boy that early, than there is something there. Doesn't mean they can't be wrong, but most likely their right. So congrats on the lil guy!

I can't speak for everybody else, but...I had my 1st trimester screening at about 13 wks. and 2 different techs did my u/s and they BOTH told us it looked like we were having a girl. We were hoping it was a girl b/c this is our last baby and we've got 2 boys. A month later, it was confirmed. I also had another u/s done @ about 21 wks. and again...ITS A GIRL!! So, they were right w/ me @ my 13 wk u/s!!

Its really like she said to early to confirm, but I a boy is a lot easier to distunguish at a earlier time than a girl! I wouldnt start buying anything until your october u/s just to be on the safe side!
