Growth scan

I had my growth scan this morning at 32w 4d and my baby is already weighing in at 5lbs 8 oz!! My dr measured my belly and said I'm only 1 cm over so she's not concerned. He is already head down and we believe he's dropping or has already dropped. Has anyone else had their scan and had baby weigh this much? I'm worried if I go to the full 40w he'll be too big to deliver vaginally? Any feedback helps!

I was told at 33 weeks that my son was 4lbs 9 oz. they said he was just about average and were hoping that he would be at least 7 pounds when he was born.  I wouldn't worry too much.

Ultrasound is a poor predictor of weight. Don't worry about it :)

I had an  ultrasound at about the same gestation with my daughter, then they told me about 6 lbs, and that was give or take a pound of accuracy. I had her 1.5 weeks late and she was 9.9lbs, so almost 10 lbs. I am pregnant again and let me tell you, there will be no over due for this girl...I want induced the day of, LOL

I was actually overdue by 4 days... and the u/s where they predicted my child would be almost 9 was on the due date.

I was told my daughter was only 4 lbs and measuring 3 weeks behind. At birth she was a normal weight and size. The later you get in your pregnancy the less accurate the measurements are since baby is so crammed in there. I wouldn't worry too much.

The bigger the baby the more they help during child birth.. It is said it's easier to deliver a bigger baby so that's not always a bad thing. if they feel the baby is too big they will help but shouldn't be a reason for that... Good luck

I hope so because I really do not want a c-section!

I wouldn't worry too much. Your body will most likely grow a baby you can birth vaginally. That is nature. Your doctor isn't concerned. So, don't stress yourself.

The ultrasound weights are really just estimates.  I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point.
