My doctor told me that they can't treat bv in the first trimester you have to wait til your second trimester
Did your lab results come back? Hope everything is well!!
I had it at the end of first trimester and all through my second trimester and was told it was thrush so I was treated for thrush and it never went. they finally told me to go and get a swab taken as my discharge went a greenish colour and was having really bad pain and tons of Braxton hicks and was finally told it was bv. they gave me some antibiotics which I took for five days (I finished two days ago) and it seems to have cleared up. No pain and not constantly getting Braxton hicks for the first time in like four months. And I didn't go into preterm labour or miscarry there is a 1:4 chance of going through either of those with leaving it untreated. So try not to panick and don't google! That made me stress unnecessarily:)
Got straight onto the phone with a doctor this morning who has taken swabs to send for testing although she doesn't think it is from what I've explained
I had bv when I first found out I was pregnant hospitals wouldn't give me any pills cause
They said ur dr likes
To pick the med my dr never gave me
Any med for it an checked
Me for it
It went
Away by its self
You are a star thank you. I'm worried that I've had it and not noticed till now when I've say and thought about it. I don't want to go through another miscarriage ever especially if it's something like this that can be stopped. It's treatable tho so I'm getting onto the docs tomorrow.
Trich often has no symptoms. The CDC reports that only 30 percent of people with trich report any symptoms at all. In one study, 85 percent of affected women did not have any symptoms.
When symptoms do occur, they often begin five to 28 days after a person is infected. Although for some people it can take much longer.
The most common symptoms among women are:
vaginal discharge, which can be white, gray, yellow, or green, and usually frothy with an unpleasant smell
vaginal spotting or bleeding
genital burning or itching
genital redness or swelling
frequent urge to urinate
pain during urination or sexual intercourse
The most common symptoms in men are:
discharge from the urethra
burning during urination or after ejaculation
an urge to urinate frequently
Many women with bacterial vaginosis do not have any symptoms. Bacterial vaginosis does not typically cause itching. But it does cause:
An excessive grayish white vaginal discharge, unlike normal vaginal discharge. Some women describe the discharge as "yellow."
A bothersome "fishy" odor, which is usually worse after sex (intercourse).
Other conditions with similar symptoms include some sexually transmitted infections (especially trichomoniasis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea) and vaginal yeast infection.
Can I take the stuff this early in pregnancy?
I'm going to get straight onto my doctor in the morning. Absolutely petrified now I don't want no harm to come of course. I'd like to think it's no sti I've been with the same partner for 5 years this is our 2nd baby 3rd pregnancy. I'm not even sure if it is or not but got myself in a right state about it
B.v can sometimes have the same symptoms as a STD called trich. And the same treatment is used for both. Or it could be a year infection I understand you are worried the only thing at this point to do is to go get checked, if you can't wait until your Dr apt, see if you have a walk in clinic, or the ER. They can check as well
I had B.v when I was only 12 weeks. Thought it nay have been yeast but it wasn't . I took some pills given by my Dr and everything is great currently 35 weeks . It can cause miscarriage & pre-term labor if left untreated.
