I am sick with another infection after a full course of gent and, clyndomyacin. High fever somewhat lowered with tylenol and pain med that barely works. What is worse is my baby is a preemie and I can't see her until I get a doctors note saying its a uterus infection and not the flu. which it's not, but the hospital ignored me after my c section anyway so why would they listen now. memorial regional hollywood, fl. horrible post partum department. great nicu. I am seeing the dr tomorrow and I am going to demand he figure this out. I have a horrible anxiety disorder and theres nothing worse than reading about death due to certain infections. I lost a baby in 2011. I didnt have a problem getting that infection under control. and i had a vaginal birth. this time none of the nurses i anti partum believed i was having contractions because the machine didnt pick it up.... 2 days later i was 7 cm dilated from the 3 and they had waited too long so she had moved out of my pelvis and the risk of her getting hurt was greater. I normally am opposed to trying to sue people because money wont fix a thing... but I a considering malpractice or negligence. I have been sick for over 2 weeks with high fever, nothing has apparently worked and I read that with endometitis [sp?] sometimes a hysterectomy is necessary in cases that arent resolved quickly or properly. I just turned 27, I have one daughter now. and because of this cesarean I have had horrible pain, an abcess, and now something else. I have been refused medical treatment, had horribly rude nurses, spent days and days crying thinking I would die, and I have had little to know help or sympathy from the hospital staff. My poor doctor didnt even know I was sick because no one recorded fevers for 2 days. My perinatal doctor never took precations with my shortening and dilated cervix and never even noticed I had a bulging bag of water. which is how this started. So please advice. I know this is old, but I am posting in different places. As I am scared... Sincerely Cristina

I had a small infection in on area where one of my staples had popped loose.  They had to reopen the small area and let it drain and reheal.  I have my mom and best friend to thank for that.  They made me laugh so hard 2 days after my c-section that I literally popped a staple!!!  They kept making me laugh and I asked them to stop becuase it hurt to laugh.  Well the faces they made trying to KEEP from laughing made me laugh even harder.  Can we say OUCH!! Even through the pain I was laughing hysterically!

Sorry I got side tracked.  That's the closest experience I have.  Mine healed pretty quickly though.

OMG!!! Ive been looking for you people like you for years! I am 45 years old and have had two children.  My 1st born son was at Women's Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada 17 years ago when they gave me the same type of Staf that AnitaRFritht talks about although the hospital let my baby go home ad put me into quarantine for a week and then sent me home with 103.4 fever and I had home health care for four months straight!  I thought for sure I was going to die!  Every six hours they were pumping high doses of antibiotics into my body not to mention the scrapings on the wound itself it was Horrible to say the least...I'm lucky to be alive!!
But ladies let me inform you it is not over yet!  Ever since that day I have been sick with other diseases of unknown origin and what I mean by this is that these do not run in my family whatsoever and I am perplexed at why I keep getting sick.  I also seem to not be able to take any of the available antibiotics on the market to help me get better, either they make me sicker or I am allergic to them.  I am trying to find other women who have been stricken with these types of problems in their lives so we can get together and find out the root and causes and maybe help each other to get better.  I can't even find anything listed under Women's Hospital Las Vegas, NV which was on Bruce and Sahara and I know there were other women sequestered along with me.  God I hope no one died? Considering the hospital closed shortly after having my baby...

I hope someone reads this......

I had a ectopic pregnancy an was cut from hip to hip.  I was sent home after 3 days.  ( I had staples.)  Well it hurt SO bad an my stomach felt full.  As if it was so full it was pulling on the staples.  Well after 3 days of being home I went back to the ER with 107 fever.  They came in the next morning an removed the staples.  My stomach popped open an infect poured out.  It was HORRIBLE.  Well to make a long story short.  They said that I had a womb infection an cellulitis.  I have a temp of 107 for a week before they got it to break.  I had to take a womb vacuum home with me after I left the hospital.  ( A tube went in my belly an the vac looked like a little black machine.  I carried it around like a purse.)  I had 2 month of physical therapy after that.  It was horrible.  I had a yeast infection on mine too.  THAT *****!  They would come in my room every day, while I was in the hospital, an put their hand in my stomach an clean it out.  I felt it all.  It was so bad that they gave me morphine, demerol, muscle relaxers, an loritab 10s.  They didn't want me to wake up.  My skin on my belly felt hot to the touch.  I had hell for 2 months.  My dr toldme to lay on the bed an let air get to the cut.  A yeast infection will form in a moist warm area.  Let air get to it.  Trust me.... that is one problem you don't want.  lol.  Anita

Yes, It is very scary, I cried and cried. I had to have mine packed for like two weeks. Once it was closed the infection was still there.Make sure that you have the doctor culture it so that they can find out what kind of infection it is and they can prescribe the right antibiotics to kill the bacteria. My C section infection was not mrsa but something else called Klebsiella. There are all kinds of different bacteria so just make sure they find out which one it is. Also keep it clean and dry. I also got a yeast infection on mine. Dont worry you are not alone.

my mom had one, she had to be scraped open with no pain meds. They had her redress it every 3-6hrs til it healed from the inside out. she went on to have my little brother michael after that. :)
