I have read to make sure your body doesn't get above 102 degree. I kept a thermo next to the tub and checked my temp every once and a while to make sure I was keeping it down to under 100. Hope this helps. I can't live without my warm baths :)
lol yup thats how I'm taking it!!
I think it sounds like a go ahead as long as it's for only a few minutes!!!
Ohhh I know just the sound of it makes me want to go hop in one myself lol. Well it seems like we're pretty close in the pregnancy, I think you mentioned your were 28-29 weeks in the other post, I'm only a week behind you...I think you can ....
WAIT!! I just found this piece of article.
"Hot Tubs and Saunas -- Getting overheated during pregnancy is bad for both you and the baby. Evidence suggests that raising your body temperature early in the first trimester while the fetal organs are forming can lead to birth defects, including spina bifida. However, these studies involved pregnant women who were ill with a high fever, not women who took saunas or hot baths. That said, getting overheated later in pregnancy can make you lightheaded or even faint. Given this information, it seems wise to avoid raising your body temperature during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester. If you are going to go in a hot tub or sauna, make sure it's not too hot (under 100 degrees F) and that you're not in it too long. If you start feeling overheated or faint, get out immediately. Tub baths are generally fine in pregnancy, since they tend to be cooler, just keep the water at a reasonable and comfortable temperature"
well, we have a hot tub, and I had my husband turn the temp down to 103. It doesn't feel very hot, but I have only been sitting on the edge putting my feet in. Now that I am in the 3rd trimester I would really like to submerge myself if it isn't going to hurt anything. Up until now, I have avoided it, even when I have had terrible lower back pain. It just looks so inviting!!!
hmmm not sure the exact temperature/degree but I know that hot tubs, jacuzzis, and saunas should be avoided. As for hot bath tub, some say it's not good, some say it's okay I think it just all depends on how much you can take, your body will let you know when to get out. I love taking baths, and somtimes I can't lie in there as long as I want because I can feel my body temp just rising and rising and I just cant take it...but I stay in for about 15 minutes. Sorry I couldn't get an exact temperature.
