yeah I know I have another ultrasound on August 9th and I am so scared tht they are gonna tell me something stupid and negative I hate it I feel like a fish In an aqurium!
wow your friend is an inspiration! I'm counting the mins down till Wed I'll know then what my levels look like...the days drag when you are waiting on something ugh hate that lol
My friend had a helathy baby and her progesterone went all the way down to 8
I feel exactly the same way! if it meant to be it will happen
My progesterone is 14 and my baby has a heart beat of 130 normal progesterone for the first trimester is supposed to be 9-47 women differ if it is meant for you to have this baby it will happen!
I just got labs done today and I'm getting results Wed, I'll know then where my progesterone levels are at, I'm hoping they will be good until then I'm just gonna relax and enjoy my pregnancy...I've had enough worrying lol
thanks for the good luck wishes, I guess anything is possible as to the reason why I miscarried, I'm not blaming the progesterone for the miscarriage I just think it didn't help my particular situation and I'm sure there's plenty of women out there who have success stories behind using progesterone but sadly mine was not one of them. I think its a personal choice that should be left to every individual person and not their Dr pushing it on them. ppl should also be told that progesterone can cause cleft lip on the baby I just think that women should research and ask questions regarding this drug just like any other drug out there before taking it.
It's possible as well your levels were low because the pregnancy wasn't viable in the first place. Progesterone won't save a pregnancy that isn't viable, but can help prevent miscarriage if low progesterone is the cause of miscarriage.
If you do need it, I'd definitely use it. Good luck!
yeah i'm gonna wait and see what happens at my app tomorrow and go from there
texasangel1343- sorry for your loss...I'm glad that this time around things are looking up for you :) as far as having a history of low progesterone or poor ovulation I have never had an issue with either except for my last pregnancy, I have a healthy 2 year old and I had no problems with my progesterone levels with that pregnancy so I'm hoping the same for this pregnancy (crossing fingers) I have my first app with my OBGYN tomorrow so I'll know what is going on.
I started taking progesterone 2 days after IUI/Ovulation. My last pregnancy it was low - only around 14 on vaginal progesterone and we miscarried. This pregnancy I was on 200 mg once a day it was steady around 40. I took it through 12 weeks, but probably would have been fine without it.
Most RE's will start you on progesterone after IUI/Ovulation if you have a history of low progesterone and/or poor ovulation.
I WOULD WAIT AND SEE WHAT the levels are! I am on progesterone but my doctor refused to put me on it until she saw a baby with a heart beat.
I strongly believe it was the progesterone that kept the baby from coming because before I started the progesterone my levels were dropping and all my labs showed that my body was pretty much getting ready to do what it needed to do to miscarry and then I got put on progesterone and it messed everything up, then the day after I stopped using the progesterone I start cramping and bleeding...but anyways I hope this time around all is well because I'm not using progesterone ever again! I'm just leaving it in the hands of god and hope for the best.
It may not have necessarily been the progesterone that kept the baby in there after its passing... My last pregnancy had no progression passed 7 weeks and I ended up having a d&c at 12 weeks....
I hope they are not low again but I think its something that is a definite possibility if you had low progesterone last time
I don't believe progesterone causes harm to you or your baby - other than sometimes nasty side effects. And if it gave me my miracle son I'm carrying right now, I'd deal with all those side effects again in a heartbeat.
It's just something to consider. If you fall pregnant and your progesterone is tested and seems fine you would be able to get off of it.
